Is Dolan the king, KING of PR disasters or what!

Rumored deal very favorable for Knicks, anything Dolan does even if it had to be done will certainly be worse for the Knicks. He's in a can't win situation. Only Dolan the Dolt would waltz right in to that buzzsaw.

Yep. Knicks have be willing to walk away to get a sweetheart deal. Dolan is sending the exact opposite message, likely due to input from his con-man friend - who can't deal with deservedly being out of the loop.

Imagine, the guy who took Balkman over Rondo and Frye over Grainger expecting to get back his job!

I'm still fine with last month's Telfair + UTA 1st (#20) deal for Randolph

DEN could still sign-and-trade Melo this summer like LeBron and Bosh, and salvage some trade value for him (like a TPE and a couple picks). However, their motivation for trading Melo before the deadline probably rests in the $20-25 mil they'd save this year by getting under the lux. A Curry-for-cap space swap would cost MIN about $5 mil at this point (with the pro-rated, pre-paid salary plus kicker), and cost them the opportunity to use the cap space in other deals.

I think this makes MIN's role pretty clear - it just depends on how NYK wants to use them.

Stupid Dolan.

He's going to F this deal and blame it on Donnie for incompetence.

One step closer to the resurrection of he-who-shall-not-be-named.

Maybe Walsh asked him to get involved for a particular reason. Maybe Kroenke reached out to Dolan. We know how the NY Media likes to go around certain details. It is Isola and he certainly has no love for the Knicks.

That said, if Dolan took the "initiative" then :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: -Jitpal

Here's a snippet of Kizla's article in the Denver Post today :

Kiszla: Melodrama could take many turns
By Mark Kiszla
The Denver Post

Posted: 02/08/2011 01:00:00 AM MST

This might come as a shock to all-star forward Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the NBA, but the Nuggets are operating under the steadfast belief that the number of suitors for their prolific scoring forward will expand as the Feb. 24 trade deadline approaches.

"I have not stressed one day since this process began," Nuggets executive vice president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri said Monday.

While conventional NBA wisdom suggests the trade value of Anthony has suffered since a blockbuster deal involving New Jersey rookie Derrick Favors, Detroit veteran Rip Hamilton and Colorado favorite Chauncey Billups blew up last month, the optimism of Denver management is based on three factors:

1) The Nuggets stubbornly refuse to believe they will be forced to ship Anthony to the Knicks on terms dictated by New York.

2) Although the possibility of establishing a franchise tag in the new collective bargaining agreement that could bind Anthony to Denver seems a risky proposition, Nuggets management will seriously contemplate it before settling for a less-than-satisfactory trade.

3) The Nuggets are convinced the market for Anthony as a rental player contributing to a contender's playoff run is destined to be strong.

While Anthony opened this game of high-stakes poker by refusing to sign a $65 million contract extension, Denver management has believed from the beginning that it will be extremely difficult for Melo or his agents to leave that big money on the table for love of the bright lights in Madison Square Garden.

In short, the Nuggets think Anthony is bluffing about the notion of sacrificing millions to sign with the Knicks as a free agent after NBA owners seek to roll back salaries and implement a hard salary cap in the next labor agreement. As all parties involved in the protracted Melodrama hear the trade-deadline clock ticking more loudly with each passing day, will somebody blink?

Sadly I think he forgot another factor for Denver's optimism :
4) Jimmy Dolan and Isiah Thomas

I dunno if it's exactly a bad thing. Remember, Dolan is actually supposed to be a really charming guy once you talk to him. It was mentioned a lot before our meeting with Lebron.

Who knows? Maybe it could actually help us keep Denver's attention.
