Gone are the two mainstays of the Rockets teams that used to be mainstays in the playoffs. In it's place, a younger team, with some talent but lacking that one superstar talent. Scola and Martin for the core of the Rockets fire power. Getting complimentary players to surround these guys may be the direction they head in this draft.

MARCUS MORRIS, PF, KANSAS

They will go Marcus Morris or Jordan Hamilton. I picked Morris because I think he has more upside.

I'm actually going to go with Vucevic here (as a reach). There really isn't anyone at this point that is a must have for them. With Yao not likely to return, Brad Miller nearing the end of his career and with 6'6" (barely) Chuck Hayes starting at C I'd imagine getting some size would be their top priority. Vucevic has a game that is actually very similar to Miller's and should fit in well with the type of players they have there.

Edit: Rasho makes good sense. I've changed my vote to Motiejunas.

Probably Marcus Morris, I don't think Chase Budinger is in their long term plans as their starting SF.

He will probably go to Indiana in the next poll (one of his rumored destinations).

I went with Marcus Morris but they could choose a lot of different guys. They need a star but at 14 it'll be tough and they just need to add talent.

I think Houston goes bpa big with Marcus Morris but I could see Jimmer here. A Jimmer/Kevin Martin backcourt is sick.

An undersized shooting guard that plays absolutely no defense...I could see him slipping.

I have them taking Singleton in my personal mocks, but he is obviously not available in this one. All of the good players available are 4's, and taking one wouldn't make much sense since the team already has Scola, Hill, and Patterson. I see them trading down to a team looking to take Jimmer, Donatas, or Marcus, and they draft either Vucevic or Hamilton.

Motiejunas is the pick

From this Rockets fan perspective, even though MM is the best player on the board, there is no way Houston takes him. Scola is a stalwart at PF, and the front office is High as a Kite on Patrick Patterson as the future at the PF position.

The areas of need are SF and C.

The two best fits at those positions would be either Jordan Hamilton or Motiejunas.

At SF, the Rox have Chase Budinger and Terrence Williams.
At C, there's Hayes, Miller, Thabeet & potentially Yao.

While none of those Centers really gives any confidence, the dearth of Sf options is worse. I think the Rox go with Hamilton, and hope that one of the 3 kids they would then have at the SF position (Bud, TWill & Hamilton) steps up to claim the starting role.

Montiejunas. C is a major concern for them (Yao's health, Thabust, Miller is old) and they have enough forwards.
