Dwyane Wade disrespects Chauncey Billups

Post#1 » by 2010 » Sat Oct 1, 2011 2:34 am

"Every team over the years that has been successful has had three guys averaging at least 15 points or more," Wade told The Daily News on Thursday. "They need a third guy but he doesn't have to be the same caliber of Carmelo (Anthony) and Amar'e (Stoudemire)."

"They don't need a superstar to be successful," Wade added. "Teams have won without three superstars. They have two great players. They just need to continue to add pieces. What they need is other player that is consistent...but I don't want to give them the recipe."

Billups can't give us 15ppg? Is Billups not that 3rd guy a notch or so below Amar'e & Melo? Dwyane Wade hasn't exactly been basketball's version of Cal Ripken either (not even as a spring chicken).

Does Wade not remember getting a BIG SHOT 28ft 3pt'er buried in his face to allow the Knicks to beat the Heat?

Billups can definitely work as a 3rd but only if there's a near equally strong 4th as center.... which there isn't. If there is I think we're in the mix right under Miami.

Like it or not I think his high IQ at the PG position is really needed in this mix.

^ Notice, Wade's reaction to the 3 pointer. Now, STFU. Are you really trying to provoke us to get Paul?

Someone should tape that quote on Chauncey's locker for added incentive ... assuming there is a basketball season.

Wade thinks he's the freaking GM. What a joke.

I don't think he meant to insult Billups, but Billups might look at it like he was insulted. Anyway, I think Billups still has a lot left in the tank. I think he's gonna surprise some people now that he's fully healthy. I think once he gets more comfortable with with this team, he will perform much better.

First of all, he obviously didn't mean to insult Billups whatsoever.

Second of all, what exactly did he say that was wrong? To be serious contenders, we DO need another piece. Is anybody disagreeing with that?

While he isn't far off, Wade might try looking at his own team first, and figure out how to get his sidekick, LeBitch, to show up when it matters.

Perhaps he doesn't recall getting bust in the eye with a big shot three from way deep.

For him to think Chauncey can't get 15 point is flat out dumb.

Chauncey has a 15ppg average, and gets 5 of those points at the free throw line, when at 90%, he doesn't miss.

That Miami Heat team really is annoying.

From the traitor, to the bro-lover, plus chipmunk face, I really can't stand those cats.

What do you mean you don't think he mean to insult Billups? How could Chauncey take it any other way? He clearly stated we need another consistent scorer capable of averaging at least 15ppg. He said we don't need another superstar, we just need another piece.

All of those comments completely marginalize Billups when in fact he is fully capable of being our 3rd big piece who is consistently capable of scoring over 15ppg. Billups is a former all-star who is savvy and a great leader. He actually single-handedly beat the Heat down the stretch last season. Wade completely blew him off. Any man with pride, such as Billups and his credentials, would (and should) be offended by those comments from Wade.

So are you saying that we're serious contenders right now and we don't need to add any significant pieces? You can get caught up on the 15ppg part, but the bottom line is we're not going to win a championship if Chauncey is our third best player. In any case, he's here for at most 1 more season, in all likelihood.

I don't really see what the problem is. Everyone on this board knows we are one big piece away, and only the tiniest minority thinks that piece is Chauncey.

Wade is getting scared though.

The Knicks have a team that is made to beat the Heat.

Their weakness is our strength, the 4th quarter.

They should be chitting their pants when they face us, at least Lebron.
