Knicks on DWill's short list

While the league's post-lockout trade buzz has been centered on Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, little attention has been paid to Williams, who like Howard can opt out of his contract and become a free agent after this season.
Williams has grown to enjoy living in New York and he is excited about the off-the-court business opportunities the city provides, so if Howard doesn't join him with the Nets, he would love to remain in New York and play for the Knicks, sources said. While no trade talks have taken place between the clubs, the Knicks could theoretically offer either Carmelo Anthony or Amare Stoudemire, thus giving the Nets a superstar to lead them to Brooklyn.
Would be too good to be true to get DWill.

Only by trade and the Nets are not doing that.

i don't think carmelo and dwill are a spectacular fit, but they are both very good.

Amare + Fields + Douglas for Williams + scraps. Only way it happens is if Williams tells NJ that he's definitely not resigning.

Huh?
Grant Hill used the Knicks to get a better contract elsewhere. DWill is going to get the Max anywhere he wants. I fail to see the similarity or the incentive for him to "fake hustle" teams

You neva know. They need a star. They'd do Melo very likely ... Amar'e, not sure.
I'm iffy on Deron. He has played mostly badly this season.

Knicks can take more than expected from the Nets. Maybe Deron and a pick or two. The owner could be desperate and might have to take Amar'e to try to stay competitive for the next couple of seasons.
Nets will need to get another PG though.
