JUST STOP IT!!

This goes out to the fans on this board and everywhere else and the media especially..

Stop it!: Baron davis will not start over lin. we finally have a young PG to lead this team and a potentially great veteran backup who can come in and play like a starter. a guy who was once an allstar talent, but now wants to get back and win and have fun.. this is a quote from Baron

“For a good part of my career, I wasn’t having fun and I didn’t really enjoy the game and I wanted to enjoy the game again,” Davis said. “I figured if I played in this system that’s fit for my talents then I’ll be able to do that.”
Davis, who turns 33 in April, said he’s not at full strength yet. He also said he can’t really play more than 15 minutes at the moment.
“That was enough,” he said. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

Baron just wants to win and have fun and maybe he found a real role here.. so STOP IT!!!

STOP IT!! steve Novak's role is an off the bench sniper, he has his limitations but what he does best, is what he did last night, perfect role that will keep him in the NBA for a very long time... So no, he does not need to start on this team, not over fields or amare.... His role is to come in with the second unit and shoot and make shots.. so STOP IT!!!

STOP IT!! This goes to the NY post writer marc Berman.. stop with the melo cheap shots.. Listen, I am not the biggest melo fan at all, but he is on our team and honestly, the guy is trying hard, maybe too hard to fit in.. .so STOP IT!!! with digs like this

Anthony was taken out with 1:39 to go in the third quarter with the Knicks locked in a 76-76 tie and the club started to play with more spirit and defensive fervor.

Really berman? really? STOP IT!!!!!!!!!

We are finally putting a decent product on the floor it seems with the potential to do bigger things... lets take things for what they are and not go overboard, everyone has a role to pay and on some nights guys will play bigger roles , doesn't mean they need to start, or the team is better without the other guy.... If I can try to enjoy this, then I know anyone can... :D

Totally agreed. Great post.

"Anthony was taken out with 1:39 to go in the third quarter with the Knicks locked in a 76-76 tie and the club started to play with more spirit and defensive fervor."

Right, Marc. It's not like they were down 12 to START the third quarter or anything.

The funny thing is weren't all the starters out of the game at that time? It isn't like they just took Melo out. So he could have made that quote about our whole starting line-up? And no mention of how we were down double digits at halftime and the starters basically Lin, Anthony and Chandler brought the team back to even before the bench even came in??

I hate the media because it is crap like that that the average fan will soak up.

Funny that Berman singles out Melo leaving the game as a catalyst when Amar'e had a +/- number of -1 in a game with a 37 point swing. I agree Melo leaving the game opened things up for our team, but seriously enough with the agenda.

NO U!

j/k

But seriously, I agree. I said the same thing in another thread. Baron right now is in an ideal situation. He can slowly get back in basketball shape, play with a unit that is ideal for him, and doesn't feel the pressure of being a savior.

Lin is the best thing that could happen to him right now. Just think when he is more comfortable with this team, there will be no drop off in talent when we bring in the second unit. D'Antoni mentioned it in the pre-game speech and I feel the same. The second unit is almost Denver'esque from last season right now. They could bring in guys who gives you good minutes and it would feel like you're constantly playing against a starting lineup.

STOP IT!! We can't trade Amar'e and Chandler away for Dwight...This cannot be a revolving door of a franchise. We need Amar'e just as much as our other stars. Amar'e has the ability to be on a tear again, his knees and defense are suspect but I can go into battle with Amare

STOP IT!! Lin will be a knick for a long time, stop getting worried. He home with us

STOP IT !! Lin cannot be stopped.

I agree with TKF on everything. Everyime we have a bench player with a good game the board goes all "START HIM PLEAAASE". They are perfect coming off the bench.

I swear if we were to win a championship this year or the next season Berman's articles would be

"What Took the Knicks So Long?!"

"Carmelo Couldn't Win Without Lin"

"I Like to Hear Myself Speak"

Okay...the last one was in complete satire but he really is annoying. How can he even reach with a statement like that?

TKF is on the money with this post.

Couple other things to mention:

1. Isola should also stop with cheap shots. I see his tweets throughout the game. One particular tweet of his:

I know the fans love it but why are four of the Knicks five starters still on the floor...other than to pad their stats.

Umm maybe b/c the second unit was nearly gassed, that's why. Also the lead was still around 15, not 20-25 points where you could afford to go into garbage time. They still kept Jamison and Kyrie in the game, so we should play ours as well.

2. Shump is NOT starting on this team yet either. His presence is best suited as the backup SG on the bench to provide defense and scoring. It better complements the bench than the starting lineup. Landry will be starting for this team the rest of the way unless injury.

Agreed TKF.

I thought "JUST STOP IT" may be your message to the cable stations to stop using Shaquille O'Neal as a commentator. This guy has nothing to add. Hiring Shaq to analyze basketball is like hiring Mike D'Antoni to be a defensive coordinator.

exactly... STOP IT!! with the amare and chandler for dwight.. honestly, is Dwight that much of an upgrade over chandler that we will basically have to give amare away? the magic have no one else I want, nor do they have a guy that will probably be an upgrade in our rotation...

I love how Novaks 4 fouls in his short time off the bench are ignored, if the guy had started at this pace he would have gotten what 3 more minutes of play?? Him coming off the bench and closing that gap is what he is there for

I think KG should stop taking cheap shots at D'Antoni in every single post. STOP IT!

Maybe the starters were brought back in the game to get some chemistry together? Everyone has been saying they need to get use to playing each other no better way to do that then on the court. But instead of looking at it like that it is because of stat padding. Media sucks

Great post...though as soon as the Knicks lose a game all of those topics will be revisited with fervor. Patience with this team has always been the key and finally, we don't have to say wait and see...the waiting is over and we still have people wanting to continue crazy ideas.

The only one I completely entertain and feel merits discussion is Landry Fields vs JR Smith or Shumpert as a starter. I really think Shumpert offers some protection for Lin (against constant screens aimed at stealing his legs) that Landry can't.
