Why build around melo?

Post#1 » by jeremylin17 » Sat May 12, 2012 4:48 am

We need to build around a big/pg combo. Perimeter players arent worth building for. Tmac, carter, arenas, nique, iverson, melo are the same. They are overrated because of stats. But they are nothing compared to the webber, garnett, amare, shaq, duncan, dirk, kemp, etc. In fact those perimeter guys wouldve been considered better than the bigs if we base it on stats but because they didnt make their teams contenders, they cant be rated higher than them.

We need players whos whole is greater than the sum of its parts and most pg/big combo does that. A perimeter player cant coexist with a pg so really why would we build around them. Building around them is like building in vain. Theres no hope. Amare has shown he still can get back to his suns days with lin and without melo. So lets trade melo for a pg. Pgs are the most impactful players in this league. So we would really be hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. Amare could get back to his all star days and at the same time we would be getting the most important piece.

There are other threads that this can be posted in...this really doesn't need its own thread.
