MSG Stock Price Watch

While it seems inevitable that Lin will be dropped by Tuesday, I believe that a few things might still happen that could change the mindset of the organization. The most important of these is MSG's stock price. If shareholders and investors believe the loss of Lin hurts MSG's profitability and future earnings potential significantly, the value of the company could conceivably plummet to the point where Dolan is forced to concede. As powerful as Dolan is, NO CEO of a publicly traded company isn't held accountable to the price movements of corporate shares.

As of today, MSG's stock price is at $36.59. Trading begins early Monday morning and ends by mid-afternoon. If MSG's value drops by at least 5% on Monday, we can probably assume that Dolan and corporate heads at MSG are going to reconsider dropping Lin.

as crazy as it sounds, we need to come together as an entity and buy those shares when the stock plummets

maybe that way the fans can finally own a part of the company and have their voices heard

Wow. The ultimate delusion to think that the stock price of a publicly traded company relies solely on a roster move from one of that company's numerous properties.

If you care so much about MSG's share price, become a stockholder. That way, you wouldn't be rooting for the price to fall.

Ever heard about short selling? See you can care and wish for doom and destruction all at the same time!

MSG's stock price rose significantly in the immediate wake of Linsanity. There's reason to expect a sharp downturn if he's cut.

Corellation does not equal causation.

its way too dangerous to put money on that assumption

the market does not work like that

there will be people who are waiting to capitalize on this notion and they have alot more money to play around with than your average Joe

that is what I have learned from trading stocks all these years

Sat down? I debunked a pretty awful assumption. You have done what, exactly? Been part of the cheer section?

it doesn when you add other factors such as Linsanity ended the long standing dispute with the cable companies due to the demand from viewers for Lin... as well as top seller in nba merchandise

Unless we as Real GMers collectively form a multi-million dollar investment group (hundreds of millions, not just millions), we're not getting our voices heard for s***.

I'll kick in the first 100 million. You'll notice that the money looks a bit different but I can assure you that hand drawn Kate Upton bills are legitimate US tender.
