There's almost nothing worse than the heartbreak of a kid over a team trading their favorite player. When you get to be my age, you take the losses in stride and you cheer the wins, but I remember the heartache of being a sports-fan in my youth.

poor kid,
every time I see a young passionate Knick fan I feel melancholy. They are in for a lifetime of suffering and disappointment.
such a cute kid

Agreed, I felt so bad for him. He proceeded to play NBA2K12 later that day and chose the Nets lol, it was hilarious, I called my wife over and we had a laugh at the expense of his hurt feelings.

Dude, I don't wanna tell you how to parent but when he chose the Nets you should have figured out a way to show him that is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Its crazy because he's 5. His favorite player was Stoudemire then Jeremy came and he fell in love like most of us did. It was a sad day... and he's going to kill me when this video makes him famous lol.

Aww!

Hopefully Lin sees this and maybe somehow gets to meet him. Poor kid, I'm heartbroken even more now.

Lol at that point I couldn't tell him anything, he's smart, he knows the Nets are now in NY so his logic told him I can still have a NY bb team and no longer feel heartbreak. He's over it now he says he still wants to go to Knick games, but only 2! But he's definetly a Nets fan also now, I told him its fine, I'm from BK, Knicks #1 though!

The same thing happened to me when we traded John Starks to Golden State. Spree made sure I got over it pretty quickly though

"I don't remember him, I was a baby."
