Why did this guy sign only for 2,8 mio?

Camby, Novak, Felton, Kidd are earning more than him!

Huge bang for our buck with jr. He's probably the best deal with the possible exception of some amnesty players like brand.

It seems the reason he came for so cheap is because of an under the table deal with the Knicks that led them to sign his little brother Chris. We will also have his bird rights after this season meaning hell likely get a big contract from us

Jr wants the bigger payday.

You need bird rights for that.

Brewer could make a case as well imo...We have some GREAT value contracts in Brewer, Smith and Kidd.

Yes thats right, I looked at the roster and tried to explain that a player should never agree to getting paid millions less, but all the players are on a good contract ( JR is still the best)....

I think the only one who shouldnt making that much is Novak.... i think 3mio would be ok!

Novak received market set money.

I think he was sold on that to stay.

Knicks will only have early Bird rights for him. That means $5M PER the most he could get. I think the Knicks offer him $20M/4 and that's really what he's worth.

I can't see any team under the cap offering him more. 4/$48M is absurd for JR. Not even close.

Landry was a "good character" guy and he was 24, so an idiot GM like Colangelo overpaid for him.

JR is a problem guy and nobody is going to overpay for him. He needs to be coddled by a guy like Woodson in order to perform. What team under the cap is going to bid $10M for him?

Nobody is bidding more than MLE money for JR.

Damn this thread made me worried we will lose JR next season. If we only have early bird rights and can offer him 5 million a year max then he is gone for sure. Someone is going to offer him more money than that.

Pistons? They are going nowhere and they have been burnt with every FA signing during the past 5 years. They already have Stuckey at the 2. ZERO chance they throw money @ JR.

Kings? The only way they do something is if they waive Tyreke. I doubt they want to pair Cousins with JR.

Hawks? They just signed Lou Williams. ZERO chance they throw money on JR.

JR has a bad rep in the league. He's 27, so he's only good for a win-now team. Nobody is giving him more than $5M.

JR is loyal to a tee.

He won't leave his brother Melo, and his dad, Mr. Woodson.

Everybody knew Lin was getting offers, if not only for the China marketing appeal. Houston was pretty obvious.
As for Landry - there was only one GM who offered him anything and you're forgetting Landry is known to be a great character glue guy who was only 24.

Nobody wanted JR this summer, so I can't see how or why that changes.
