there such great content and tradition here in the past, i feel like we need a thread where people recount the history of realgm on the knicks to educate these kids

I remember a poster got caught for a duplicate by Kane2021 in a thread a little less than a year ago. And he tried to say someone hacked his account and started posting on it, so he made another one. Something along those lines. Anyone have that thread?

Q2N8 got caught on camera at a Knicks/Pistons game with his mom. Dude was rockin a nate robinson jersey and a headband :lol:

Then Q2N8 tried to blatantly deny it later on that night.

Max cat

i think this term originated around 2009 or there around, certainly before 2010 free agency period. It was when we were getting under the cap, and every now and then there would be a thread about a potential free agent that would be rumored to be interested in NY.

One of them happened to be Tony Parker.

In this thread, there was a big debate about how much TP was "worth". There were some who believed that he would be worth a max contract (which was like 16m back then) and others who said he was worth no more than 10, and that we would be overpaying for him.

in that thread, the term "max cat" was born to designate players certainly worth or certainly not worth max contract value.

hence, the max cat.

it became such a popular term that people started using it as their avatar (the one that pharmcat has).
