Wondering if the Knicks will follow the pattern of attaining Nuggets and Mavs players. Would Dirk come to NY before he retires? Doubtful but I find certain combinations of roster work.

Jeff Van Gundy was very vocal about the dismissal of Lawrence "Dougie Howser" Frank. Without Jason Kidd, that guy was exposed. In 2 seasons, the Pistons haven't gotten better....in fact, they've tuned him out.

With a horribly weak NBA draft, one wonders...what each team would do. Personally I would give it up to dump some dead salary.

And, in other news, looks like the Suns finally fired the right guy (their awful GM). Cavs should be interviewing GENTRY, imo. I think he took a lot of the good from D'Antoni but didn't have the philosophy/attitude flaws. He and Kyrie would do well together.

A lot of fans don't like him and even his ex-personnel hate him. Nice organization/staff otherwise from all accounts but publicly insulting fans is just terrible.

Cavs plan on making a go at a trade for LMA...LMA and Kyrie Irving is a terrifying combo. Both are young and both are immensely talented!

Via wiretap, they're really big fans of both Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson. So if the Cavs wanted to make a move, they'd have two nice young prospects that could cut expenses for Portland.

Lillard/Aldridge is already a pretty dynamic duo, Portland just needs a wing scorer & a rebounder/shotblocker and they're set moving forward

They blew that opportunity more than words can describe. Hindsight is always 20/20 but damn, taking Greg Oden number one instead of Durant (who went second) is an unforgivable mistake.

Wut? Wasn't Oden injured in college and already had knee issues pre-draft?

HBC made a good point in regards to Oden being an elite prospect which is why I originally stated hindsight is 20/20. Now I do know that Oden had surgery on his wrist during his high school years but I'm pretty sure he never had any knee injuries before entering the NBA because if so, I could be wrong but I highly doubt any team would've taken him with the first overall pick. And if it's true where he did suffer previous injuries, he wasn't playing like it during his final college game of the National Championship putting up 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

So I fully understand Thugger's view point on Oden being a phenom coming out but I just feel every time Portland's fan base thinks of an elite wing player and/or watched Kevin Durant perform; they have nightmares. Hindsight is always 20/20 but as a Knicks fan still can't believe we took Jordan Hill 8th overall during the 2009 NBA draft. Really had my eyes set on Rubio and Curry at the time (went before us) but could've landed players such as DeRozan, Jennings, Hansbrough, Lawson, Holiday, Taj Gibson etc. Different situations which is why I can't imagine how Portland fans feel when thinking of Oden/Durant.

The risk for Durant was his strength, not his ability to play, his concern was his durability in the sport.

Oden was a beast coming into the draft and his injury was his wrist, in which had no effects when he led Ohio State to the championship game racking up over 20/10 and i think 5 blocks.

His knees became an NBA injury, dont recall him having any knee issues prior to draft.
