Sooo I'm assuming us ACTIVE gms have our 15th men. We should discuss a target end date.
Also Ridnour is available in a a package with Jason Smith, looking for an upgrade in the frontcourt and willing to take a slight downgrade in the backcourt. Hit me up.

my end date is basically when I finish adding the new guys into my pimp thread. Its up to the judge(s), when they want to name
(my team) the winner.

There is a chance that Satoransky (who was one of the best players in Europe this past season) will actually play for the Wizards in 2013-2014. Yep. Gooden is one of the guys that I think people are looking at this years numbers and passing. Reality is that he's a very talented post player that can also rebound. Bigs with a post up game are not easy to come by in the NBA nowadays. Gooden was very productive last season for the Bucks, he gets to the free throw line, he can make his free throws...he can play both PF and C...etc. You can throw him out there and he'll force opposing defenses to have to adjust. And he actually averaged 2.6apg in 29mpg last season which also shows that he is willing and able to pass out of the post. No he's not a defensive player but at this point, getting someone that has a definite plus in a particular area is exactly what you look for.

Royal Ivey is the prototypical role playing defensive combo guard. He knows what he is, he does it real well. Terrific defensive player that sticks to his guy like glue (so much so that he's annoying), he doesn't make mistakes defensively, he fights real well through picks (which pretty much every team runs in some form nowadays). He's quick enough to guard point guards. He's strong and feisty enough to guard smaller SG's. And he can hit the occasional open 3 if you leave him alone. He doesn't do much of anything else, but that's ok because you can use him for what he can do and know that he'll do it. It's why he's been employed for almost 10 years in the NBA without having any real refined basketball skills.

Makes you wonder though why the team didn't play Gooden more, considering I do agree that he is still talented.

I don't want to blame it on the Bucks system but part of it is that system under Jim Boylan. It was just a mess. Most of the veterans on that team underwhelmed.
I look at it more along the line that if he actually got playing time under Scott Skiles despite not being a good defensive player it tells me that he's a valuable player, a very good player, a player that does something real well.
Theres another guy that is still available that was in a mess of a situation of his own this past season. Another one of the few guys that I think people are passing because they are looking at 2012-2013 stats only. Actually 2 guys still...that if guys do a little research will realize that there were reasons beyond their control for their poor stats.

Nope. Not unless they were on a 15 man roster with one of the NBA teams this past season. So no Jerome Jordan, for example.

Yep, Maggette was one of the other guys that I think people slept on or passed on cause his stats for 2012-2013 was terrible and that he didn't play many games.
Reality is that Maggette was probably in the best shape he's been in a long time but was squeezed out of the rotation by Lawrence Frank for what appears to be so they can play guys that might actually be a part of their future. Maggette was widely considered to have been a great lockerroom guy and helping out all the young players and not making any sort of fuss about his lack of playing time.
Here's a clip of Maggette working during the offseason in the summer of 2012 and you can tell that he was a lot slimmer and leaner than he's been in years (fast forward to the 1:10 mark)

A lot of teams needing that guy that can score and really draw attention from opposing defenses off the bench that should have taken Maggette IMO even way earlier than the FA period.

That's the rules that was agreed upon. But Maggette is the better pick anyways IMO.

Yeah I know. But physically he looks great and based on everything that he's said and reportedly done this past season in Detroit, he may be hitting that "aha!!" stage in his life/carrier...finally..in terms of team ball. Terrific pick right now without a doubt. He should have gone to a lot of teams earlier (10-13th rounds). If I were judging I would buy the argument from any GM that this year was an aberration that Maggette absolutely could contribute in a rotational role as a key offensive option off the bench (maybe not 6th but 7th or 8th man) for the same reasons I listed.

This year (in BAT terms) is a hit, but his contract just expired so there really is no long term commitment. In fact in RL, he's one of the guys that might work at the vet minimum for the Knicks to maybe look at adding.
