We get no respect

None from the press or the forums, there is a topic in the GB talking about if the East has a top5 or a top4.

And they are putting the Pacers and Nets in the mix before the Knicks.

It's a shame, our offseason is way better than the Pacers's and we have a better team if healthy than they do.

The Nets again? the additions are awesome, but they have to make everybody work with each other and they have some ball dominant guys there, also Kidd is not just a rookie coach, he has never ever coach even as an assistant, and suddenly they are better than the Knicks? a team that lost to the decimated Bulls? a team with no soul? and also most of their players are even older than ours.

Seriously, this is unbelievable, people can't be that stupid, I understand obviously Miami, and Chicago if Rose is 100% back, because their RS use to be great, but Indiana and Brooklyn? seriously?

The Knicks have a top5 player in the world, and a top2-3 player in the East (depending on Rose).

The lack of respect towards the job this organization have done is just incredible, I though NBA fans knew better.

They have every reason to put the Pacers ahead. Which team got dominated in the 2nd round of the playoffs? Our only additions this offseason were Artest and Bargnani (who could very well be a net negative), how does this exactly put us ahead of the Pacers? We didn't even address our biggest problems, rebounding and post defense.

And honestly, there's nothing wrong with putting Brooklyn in front either. Their offseason additions were much more substantial so going off of potential alone they are deeper and look more capable of going deep into the playoffs if they don't implode. You say Brooklyn has no soul but what soul does this team have exactly? Who's the leader? Where's the defensive anchor who was supposed to be Tyson Chandler?

I hope this team fulfills the best case scenario but when the only offseason additions were a washed up Artest and a guy who nobody wanted around the league, it's perfectly understandable why outside people don't have particularly high hopes.

knicks certainly didn't get dominated by the pacers. a few bounces go our way and we win the series. tired of people acting like we got destroyed. they stole game 1. we blew them out in game 2. they blew us out in the next 2 home games. we blew them out again at home. game 6 was close.

basically 2 blowouts each way, and 2 close games that they pulled out. knicks win those 2 close games and they win in 6. "dominated" ??? maybe in a specific category like rebounding but overall? not at all.

in fact add the point totals up if you'd like. you may be surprised to learn both teams scored the EXACT same amount of points in the series.

You have to EARN respect in order to GET IT. Fact is, the Knicks have very little to show for the last 10 yrs. Second seed, second round knock out?

Do NOT think the Knicks should be privileged because it IS New York City.

They do not have the legacy of the Yankees, Giants. They are somewhere between the Jets and the Mets. Not as far gone as the Isles but not as revered as the Rangers.

Now, what are the Knicks going to do to EARN that respect? We will see. Excited to find out! :)

fair enough... but what have the nets done? and don't tell me they get credit for what the celtics did years ago because they added a few of their corpses.

this thread is pointless, it's crying over people not putting their precious team ahead of the others. so to make the OP and to the rest who feel insulted that the knicks aren't being talked as the 2nd or 3rd best team in the east, here's my list that'll fit your agenda

knicks

heat
pacers
bulls

nets

happy?

Its not just the GB, pretty much everyone excluding knick fans are putting them as the 5th best team in the East. Lets just play the games, so many things can happen especially with injuries.. and I like being the underdog anyway.

Its gonna feel so good watching the Nets struggle with their two crippled fossilized bitches and the Bulls struggle to get 50 wins with a still-recovering Rose and no bench. Then we can all look back and laugh at the stupid ass critics who think great teams are made on paper before even a single game is played

It doesn't matter...I'm hoping popular opinion gets me a bunch of really nice betting lines early in the season.

and chandler's bulging disc being an issue

amar'e knees being held together by a paperclip and gum

jr smith will be playing a lot more than he should

MWP is crazy

k-mart usually divides lockerooms

bargnani sucks like last year and turned out melo needed surgery on his shoulder

you see how easy it is to point out the potential negatives in every team?

I think its fair. Just like I did last season. The Knicks simply have to come prepared to shut peoples opinions up.

I think the best 5 teams in the east are: Heat, IND, Nets, Knicks, and Bulls.

I determined this order by how last season ended and the changes that were made in the off-season. Nets had a good run last season and just got better. Indy has a ceiling that if they reach it this season, they are dangerous, they might even be better than the Heat. I think the Bulls are a wild card simply because of D-Rose. If I was more sold on his health I would pick them over the Knicks.

Then there is us. We don't know Amar'e's health, Bargs consistency, JR's consistency especially as a second option, our level of PG play because of the lack of Kidd, and I'm sure there are more questions that I'm leaving out.

I think we are a good team and I do support the moves we have made so far. But the criticisms are fair.

I see no reason at all why the Knicks won't win the same or more games as last year.
The team 100% got better, they are together for another year and I feel Carmelo will be the MVP this year.
Everyone keeps saying a couple teams got better.
Bla, bla, bla.
A ton of teams also got MUCH worse and are in full tank mode.

If Carmelo Anthony stays healthy, the Knicks will win 54-60 games.
Lock.

What happens in the playoffs all comes down to which team is the healthiest.

GB will be General board. Last year I don't think anyone said we were winning the Atlantic, and half of that board said we weren't beating Boston.

I don't understand why people think the Knicks will be worse then last year.
Lmao!
They improved their depth big time this year and continue to add players.

Bargnani, Artest, Tyler, THJ and maybe West and Ivan is a tremendous upgrade to Camby, Kidd and Novak.
Not to mention, what if Amare has a fully healthy year?

Knicks are in no way worse then last year. As long as Carmelo stays healthy, they are a 54-60 win team.

Period.

THIS

You can't win games via forums or some media comments. We should show our quality on the court.

Just look at ESPN's "experts' " opinion from last season and who would win atlantic division... AND NO ONE, BUT NO ONE EVEN MENTIONED KNICKS! No one, not even Ian Begley from ESPN NY.

bro let them believe what they wanna be, we're a good team now and a lot better than before, you don't need to watch espn to get all of that. basically almost everything worked out this offseason (bargs for the WIN NOW PLS and a huge upgrade for cope)...hahaha cope is actually OLDER than bargs, and we got a ton of extra surprises (QUEEEEEEEENSBRIDGEEEEEE WHERE YOU AT)

while what you said is true, my post was more how the poster was complaining about a thread not giving the knicks credit, yet he proceeded to do the same thing
