PRODUCTIVE ALTERNATIVES TO WATCHING KNICKS GAMES

The way things are going, I think the time given to following a team in such disarray becomes a matter of priority and respect for your own time more than a question of loyalty.

This third quarter against the Cavs tonight made me sit up straight and ask myself, "Clyde, WTF are you doing? Aren't there other things you've been wanting to do, other things you want to learn? Can you really afford this?"

(that's me talking to myself in the third person)

And the answer was yes. I could be using the many hours in a season to learn programming and to practice martial arts. So that's what I'm going to do. I've been contemplating studying Ruby on Rails and I'm going to put together a game plan to do that.

Not leaving here, but I am cutting back and will read the board less and post for fun when I need a short break. But no more hours spent on this weird obsession with the Knicks.

And I doubt I'll watch more than a few minutes of this team again until something dramatically positive happens.

All of that is better than ragging on this sorry team any more than we already have.

Anyone else making a similar decision now?

If so, what are you going to do with the time you're reclaiming for yourself?

Learn neuroscience or kill more brain cells in a dive bar?

I have been contemplating this for a couple weeks now also (not the martial arts but cutting back from the Knicks). This season is a loss and the off season looks worse. At least we had 1 year in the past 15 to enjoy. Thanks for the memories 12-13' Knicks.

Last year feels far away now.

Linsanity was a happy time while it lasted.

Still hard to accept this is the end of any real prospect for this team for what could be a long time, but it is starting to hurt me more devoting so much attention to it.

Oh well

Good luck

Write a novel in which the main character is a self loathing Knick fan.

Excellent. I see you've got your silver lining playbook working. Any title in mind?

Tonight it was the Pacers VS Heat game. And I watched some truly awful city league basketball game.

It must be the sequel to "Best Seat in the House"?
