Melo knows the Knicks had a chance at LaMarcus Aldridge and blew it. He knows they snubbed a trade that would've brought Rajon Rondo to New York or Kyle Lowry in a separate deal. All year long he sat around, played hard and averaged 27 points per game, while the Knicks stood idly by and did nothing -- primarily because Dolan wouldn't allow them to, telling the team in multiple meetings that the players weren't going anywhere.

Who cares? Without knowing the whole equation, it is impossible to know if it was a good deal or not.

The next day we hear that Mills traded for Barfs instead of Aldrige probably because of a CAA conspiracy.

I don't believe anyone those guys was a possibility except Lowry. Definitely not Rondo since it was well know that the Celts weren't interested in anything we could offer (including Shump).

Seriously, Screaming A. Smith's saying Knicks rejected a trade offer for Rondo and Aldridge. It really makes no sense.

Just ask yourself one question : if the Celtics and Blazers wanted to part ways with Rondo and Aldridge, why are they still in Boston and Portland ?

SAS wants Knicks fans to believe Celtics and Blazers only had interest in Knicks players and no other team succesfully attempted to acquire those players ? Blazers and Celtics only wanted Knicks players and (lack of) assets ? Yeah right ! LOL

If there was a possibility these guys could be traded, lots of teams could have proposed a better offer. And if as SAS suggested, Knicks refused to pull the trigger, Blazers and Celtics would have contacted other teams and most of them would have made offers.

Lol Cleveland wasn't even close to getting Aldridge for the #1 pick and another 1st. What offer could we have possibly made to top that?

Aldridge was likely never on the market, and the Knicks had few assets (aside from Anthony himself) than Ainge would want.

As for Lowery, it was a good move to not give up a 2018 #1 for a FA looking to get paid, with your 2014 and 2016 #1s already spoken for.

Lowery might have gotten the Knicks into the playoffs, where they could have gone out in 5 versus Miami or Indiana. And then we would have had no choice but to pay him anything he asked for.

Aldridge? Of all the seasons in Aldridge's career to think that the Knicks had a shot at trading for him, this season, his BEST SEASON BY FAR as he was leading the Blazers to their best season in a long long time is the absolute worst time to be having fantasies about.

Rondo? The Celtics traded 2 broken down old men (KG and Pierce) to the Nets for more than what the Knicks could have possibly come up with in terms of assets. Why on earth would Ainge (who has never ever ever done the Knicks a favor) trade Rondo (when his value is at it's lowest) for...what...Shumpert, Hardaway Jr and Melo underwear that Knicksman780 stole?

A few years from now, someone will mention the proposed Amare deal, and I'll login with a big "I told you so". I'll probably be wearing Melo's Depends at that time however
