Amare, offensively by miles and Tyson Chandler defensively. Overall, its STAT.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

I think that Aldrich has the game to be the best big man the Knicks ever had. Right now, I may have to take the Big Z as my selection.

Tyson is garbage. Played good help D for a year. That's about it. He's not even that good a defender at his best really. Pretty average 1 on 1 and doesn't block shots. Offense is abysmal. Attitude is fake tough guy.

He blows.

The Zach Randolph that played on the Knicks thought he was a damn shooting guard! And the ball always stuck when it found his hands.

I'd LOVE to have Zach Randolph that plays for the Grizzles…but our version of Zach Randolph played like doo doo.

Of course it's Amare

He's the only one since Ewing that's carried our team - and he really carried our team that year

As far as centers go I would have to say Kurt was our best, but Chandler was the only All-star center we had and won the DPOY on a division winning team. That has to mean something right?

thats mostly fair but Zach Randolph was simply terrible when he was here so I don't think he belongs

Amare's 1 season of goodness was vastly superior to Randolph's 2

I think Lee is a little harshly low

its a shame we never had a healthy McDyess

even sadder that Eddie Curry can't even smell this list over Kurt Thomas. Pathetic

Id even talk about Deke or Sweetney over Curry

If you are considering both PF's and C's then Stoudemire should be on there. Randolph played only 80 games as a Knick (69 games in 2007-2008 where he averaged 17.6/10.3 for a team that went 23-59, and 11 games at the start of the 2008-2009 season where he averaged 20.5/12.5 before being traded where the Knicks were 5-6). Stoudemire's was on pace to be an MVP candidate at 25.3/8.2/1.9 his first season in NY and the Knicks were right around .500.

And if you are considering PF's, then Carmelo Anthony (who has spent most of his Knick career at PF) would be CLEARLY the best since Ewing.

Amare's 1st season >>>>>>>

It was arguable he was the MVP of the league the first 50 games.

Carmelo is obviously the best overall player since Ewing but in terms of style of play he's not really a "big man."

I'd go

Amare
Tyson
Zach/Lee
Camby
Kurt

It was so awesome to watch. I wish that we hadn't made the trade for Melo and just kept what we had, but then I think that Amare would have been injured evenutally anyway, so it probably would not have lasted. We had some swagger for a while.
