"I just feel that Carmelo, he is a bit soft," she said. "And now, this is just my own personal opinion, I think he is soft. I don't think he has a killer instinct in his eyes, at least this last year. And I also think he needs people around him that have that killer instinct, because then that brings it out of you. And with him taking such a high salary, I think that kind of handcuffs the Knicks in being able to get those types of players that are getting big contracts. There's no way around that."
I had a friend of mine send this to me. She obviously doesnt know what the hell she is talking about, but stuff like this just adds to the continual mocking of the Knicks and everthing and everyone is associated with it. "Hahaha a female tennis nobody called Melo soft." But these are our fans, supposedly.

She's a basketball fan and a tennis player, nothing wrong with her opinion.
I don't think Melo is soft, I think he's on dimensional and lacks heart, hence he plays no defense and not a team player who quits on coaches and teammates if he does not get his way....but soft nah....

Melo ain't soft . Has never been , plus he is one of the only superstar I know who doesn't flop . Can bang inside as well . She definitely , confuse the killer instinct with soft . Hopefully , we can get a impact player like a LA so melo can get some help and not be the only one who can score 25-30 pts a nite.

I don't totally disagree with her. Don't think he's soft, mentally or physically. Mentally soft people can't play in NY (lebron, Dwight howard, etc.). And he's physically tough, just look at how he plays.
But yes, he doesn't have that killer mentality that guys like kobe and Jordan have. That's why he won't win a championship, at least not with those types of players around him. She's definitely correct in that aspect.

It really took me a google search to figure out this actually wasn't the case.
She has those healthy, "tennis legs", not bad at all.
But she's kinda right. Melo goes Welo sometimes intead of focused, cold killer mode like the Mamba.

She meant to say she makes him soft, she is not appealing and let's be honest sweetheart you have lost approximately half of all your matches in both singles and team competition... you should keep your mouth shut about people who are your betters.
