Wha?

I chose 35-39, so around 37 is good enough.

I expect 44 on the nose. We have basically 1/2 of Portlands team from last season with Melo playing the part of Alderidge.

We have the best roster since the 54 win season. Probably a top 3 roster since 99.

Knowing our luck, Lopez will miss 1/2 the season and he really is going to be our 2nd most influential player this season.

As always our guard play will be our bellwether.

We have discussed this in other threads but never in poll form so we wont lock it, honestly I feel like 34-39 wins.

Take off the homer glasses for a minute.

We have little depth from our center and SG positions. Unless we get good backup center and SG, this roster is incomplete.

34 wins or less. That's enough for a top 9 seed.

my god how can people think we are 35 wins?

Melo playing 82 games last year with that roster = 35 wins.

As long as the Knicks at least get the 8th seed I'm satisfied plus a better record than the nuggets so they wont flip the pick.

Cant afford the Nuggets/Craptors get a top lottery pick cause of that horrible trade smh.

Again comparison:
Rolo = Rolo
LMA ~ Melo (I actually think Melo is better but moving on)
Afflalo = Afflalo

then you look at the rest of the rosters:
Matthews, Lillard, Blake, Kaman, McCollum, Leonard, Crabbe,

Obviously Lillard is lightyears better than anything we have at point guard, so I can concede POR pg rotation of Lillard and Blake is FAR superior to Calderon + Grant.

In terms of b/u center... we have Kyle O'Quin who I perceive as better than Leonard/Kaman, but at least that's a push.
next to LMA, they had Batum, we will have Zingo, Williams, and a choice of Early, Ndour, or OTHER there. POR had Matthews during the regular season, so overall, POR would have a big edge here, but they still were competitive without him (and Afflallo was part of the filling in)
then they had McCollum who played a lot at the 2 and played VERY well in the playoffs, but regular season numbers have him at 7 ppg and 1.5 rpg.

In short, in terms of production, Knicks are going to need Derek Williams to be a scorer to the tune of 15 ppg, and if he does that, we are a Damien Lillard away from being the Blazers (so we are 2 giant steps from 51 wins in the west, which translates to IMO 44 wins in the east).

We have 3 legitimate nba players that would get rotational minutes on most if not all nba teams.
Melo/Rolo/Afflalo. Two of them are role players.

This puts too much pressure on Melo and the young guys.
I just don't see the wins.
Hope I'm wrong.

Calderon would still get minutes on most teams even if he has lost a step.
