Im sick of NBA 2K's stupidity and cheating

Im not a game guy but I like to play a few sports games in franchise modes. Its fun to keep tack of stats and run a team.

I started on snes with live. Then 2k on dreamcast. Been playing it sense with little choice on PS. And I just cant take it much more. The game cheats like a mother **** man. I take it out on the equipment and almost broke my TV.

For as long as they been making this game and charging 60 bucks how is it the computer is the same **** year after year? Has the computer been improved sense the game was the cheapest NBA game on PS2 at 29.99? This isnt realistic. They cheat. They dumb my guys down and make their guys super hyper. Their hands are always in the passing lane. If I block their shot the computers reaction time is in the blink of an eye to recover. While it takes seconds for my guys to recover from one move. No matter how much I adjust the defense sliders and help defense, my defense always collapses on drives leaving open shooters. If I recover fast enough to contest, in the blink of an eye they have the offensive rebound and score.

I jump up for a rebound and miss it. They get it. My guy has to recover from coming back down. Regain his composer. Regather to jump again. By the time this happens they have already scored and are back on defense. My guys are waiting for the imbound pass while my center is jumping back up to contest the shot they already made.

They just zig zag into the paint until the defense collapses. It loops like this until the shot clock is down to one. Where they do something spectacular AND draw the foul. It seems like the computers guys not only have better reaction time but they move better. My guys lumber around, get in my way, sometimes turn their back on passes resulting in turn overs. Passing can be impossible sometimes. I swear theres times where the ball goes in a different direction than I chose. And the computer is always there to steal it.

I can go on and on about the whack ass game play. Spend all kinds of time adjusting sliders. If I bounce the difficulty down,... the game is way too easy.

But aside from the game play,.. the computer screws up the whole league with the way it trades, signs, and drafts players. For example, right now the heat have Bosh, Bynum, Amare, D WIlliams, Z-Bo and a big man they drafted. Over the course of a few seasons they have stacked up 6 solid guys to play 2 positions. Have 3 decent rotation PG's and Wade. Its not the only team thats stacked up to a point where good players dont play and scrubs have to. And its been like this for as far back as I can remember. How is it that the developers have not figured how to program the computer to stop stacking up guys at positions?

Honestly was having the same problem but I started playing on these sliders and they helped out a good bit to make a fun, fair, but competitive game against the CPU.

You don't have to read the whole thing but somewhere they mention improving the logic of the Cpu's moves when it comes to team building.

It's awful that the game is the best option we've got. I quit on Madden, but I really can't spend a year without a basketball game. Plus my whole squad plays, so if I slack, I'll get smoked on my down time. I like the mode where you build a team with decks of cards and just play online match-ups, that's basically overtaken most of my other play (I do mess around in MyPlayer from time to time tho).

There's lots of good slider sets out there. Once you experiment a little and figure out something you like for your level of play, the game is excellent.

It also could be that you suck at the game. Check out YouTube; there are guys out there that can smoke HOF difficulty. I don't play often enough to learn all of the special moves in the game, but I do run a real offense, I run specific plays, and I learned a couple of simple post moves, which can make all of the difference. As examples, I run the triangle's motion cuts with the Cavs, or I'll run a spread PnR with the Suns.

If you're using the Knicks, there's not much I can say. They won 17 games...

Stop using the knicks. Defense is impossible with them. Especially against the CPU. It will abuse your teams weakness.

Exactly how I feel. Drives me crazy. Impossible to play on hall of fame because the computer makes every jump shot (after wasting 20 seconds of the shot clock every time) then if they miss they get the offensive rebound. The guy you control always does the stupid jump animation so it doesn't rebound right.

You can't move around on the floor fluidly or change direction, but some how the computer player glides around the floor like an Olympic figure skater.

Game drives me fkn crazy. That's why I stopped buying it 2 years ago after buying and playing basketball games since Sega.

And why the fk does the computer always run out of bounds. Catch the ball and dribble in the correct direction

This yr more than ever was important to have a very strong defensive team & bigs that could rebound. Especially on HOF.

I actually loved the game offline. Much more challenging than in the past.

What I hate especially is when I'm on the break, it's 3 vs 2 , the third one is running into the paint, and when I move the stick and press pass it will pass to the guy behind him or somewhere completely random.

but yeah computer is a cheating bastard and it feels scripted.
