NBA execs: What Knicks could get in Carmelo Anthony trade

The consensus of a small, but representative group of NBA team execs and personnel types said there would be an interested, willing market for Anthony. But all state the obvious, that despite Anthony’s star status, the Knicks could not expect to fetch anything like the haul they surrendered for him five years ago.
“There is a market. He’s still a star player. They could get a starter and a first-round draft pick and whatever else needed to make the salaries work,” one Eastern exec said.
“There’s always a market,” one GM said. “Some people will give something but don’t get excited for like what Denver got going the other way. Realistically, I wouldn’t say a young stud but maybe a solid player and a pick. I could see a good team doing that for Carmelo. A bad team won’t want to part with a high lottery pick

Teague + first round pick
Or
Bledsoe + first round pick
We can throw in o'quinn to sweeten the deal

huh? those offers are trash. Teague will be on an expiring. Bledsoe has chronic knee issues at this point as an explosive guard that's awful.

He'll only waive his NTC to go to a contender so there's no point in dreaming of a high lottery picks unless it's a three-team deal. Ideally something like Melo to LAC, Blake to a 3rd team and we get picks and young players from the two other teams.

look dude those are the only trades I could come up with that have all-star caliber players. those are the only two available IMO. I just want Porzingis to play with an all-star. btw players seem to recover 100% from mensicus tears, so no I am not worried abut bledsoe. Westbrook actually looks more athletic after his surgery, if that is even possible.

I can live with the Bledsoe as a roll of a dice. That Teague and a pick trade is so bad. No offense.

Melo isn't agreeing to go to Atlanta or Phoenix though.

i know. any melo trade probably has to be a 3-team deal. if we trade melo just please get an all-star in return.

Phil Jackson will be fired before Dolan allows Carmeo to be traded.

Bledsoe is a pretty garbage offer. Might as well keep Melo, he has a much larger impact.

I'm sorry, but I just saw Brandon Jennings coming off of a torn Achilles and the corpse of Ersan net Tobias Harris...Detroit didn't even need to send a pick. Good packages for Melo are out there...Phil and Mills would just have to do their due diligence

I love that the "haul" is all hypothetical.
If Gallo stayed healthy
If WC stayed heathy
If Felton stayed in shape
If Moz played like he did for CLE
How about dealing with reality in what was traded? 2 guys who are talented but can't play 50 games in a season, a back up C, a backup PG and the 12th pick in the draft.
Everyone with the hot takes. I'm grateful we weren't stuck with those guys. We'd never make the playoffs and would of gave up a way higher pick in 2012 to HOU

We do not need an all star in return for Melo.. First rounders would be paramount tho.. and maybe at least 1 good solid young prospect

Crowder, Smart, and the BK pick and let's rock

I'd agree that deals are out there; however, the NTC handcuffs us in terms of who we can deal with. Melo will only go to a big market. Let's hope he would consider Boston a large market (even though sauces say he doesn't) so we can get those Nets picks

but we will be doing the same thing to KP that we did to Melo the last 5 years. I want two players that can dominate a game, not this fugazy 2nd option crap like Aaron Afflalo and JR Smith.

KP is 20, not 27. Big, big, big difference. Dude needs to grow and improve.

Melo to Cleveland, Love to Boston, and Nets' 2016 unprotected pick + some salary to NY.
That's the only trade that truly helps all involved parties.
