Right now, it looks like the Sixers. An Okafor/Simmons front court would be lethal and if they can get Emiid for 40 games it's a bonus. Plus the Sixers are ridiculously under the cap.

We Gucci.

People really keep forgetting we have one of the best frontcourts in the entire league & have a pretty exciting backcourt on our hands with Wroten & Grant.

Plug in a few pieces, take out Jose, Afflalo, Seraphin & we are fine.

Stocking up "assets" don't mean sh*t if players don't want to go there.

we are really not far. we've cleaned house and set course. folks far too impatient.
RIP magnumt

welcome home, thibs.

Assets eventually have to turn into talent. Everyone is enamored with them till they get drafted. See CHA this year. Flipped both their 2014 picks to get actual talent. Not sure Vonleh and PJ will make it to a 2nd contract.

You'd rather have Melo than Simmons or Ingram??????

I'd be excited for either. But I'll stick with the proven all star who's still in his prime. I'm more excited if we could tank next year and add to this young core around Melo

We are not tanking with a healthy Melo you can throw that notion out the window

I LOL at people saying we have one of the best frontcourts in the league. That really is an awesome consolation prize to a 50 loss season and no lottery pick.

It's really close, but as many have said the fact that KP appears to be That Dude™, or at least on his way to That Dudedom, is the trump card for me.

We've all seen the numbers on top picks and how they pan out, and KP already demonstrating what he has in just one year puts him way ahead of "draft picks" or prospects. That's enough for me. We are so lucky as Knicks fans to have gotten this kid on basically our first swing. Look at teams like Orlando and even Philly - they've been taking swings for years and nothing has panned out the way you hope it does just one time in order to transform your franchise.

But if we didn't have KP it'd be Philly 10 out of 10 times. Or even if we had Okafor or Russell instead - I'd take Philly 10 out of 10 times. Their bottled up assets to try and find a KP-type player are amazing and something to be envious of.

Knicks.

Until philly can role out even a decent lineup, they have 3 centers and if they are smart Ingram, then I don't the see the big picture for Phily. Even if they start trading I think they will get pennies on the dollar for top prospects.

I wish Kris Dunn came out for the draft last year. We'd probably have our point guard for the future in him. But I still have ?'s about grant. I think Kp is still better than anyone in this draft and currently on their roster. So I take us

You can have all the picks in the world.. The hard part is getting them right.. I would pick Philadelphia as having a better situation than us because of assets but..

Carter Williams is somewhere else
Jrue holiday is somewhere else
Embiid is injured all the time
Okafor is decent but speeding drunk on the Ben Franklin and suspect on D
Norlens Noels is good but still work in progress

Add Ingram or Simmons to an already crowded front court

They have to get one or two of these picks right

We can flip Melo for a few picks and players and we will be in a similar situation moving forward but with a corner stone piece in KP that as of now shows more promise than there pieces currently

Superstars are required to win a title in almost every season. So that is the number 1 priority that a team should strive for, getting a superstar on the team. So to me, it's a question of would u rather have KP or Okafor/Noel/Embiid/Number 1 pick. Look that is a lot of good young talent on the Sixers will acquire, but at the same time do I see Okafor/Noel/Embiid ever becoming a superstar? I have to lean and say no, only Embiid to me has the potential to be one, if his injuries are recoverable, a huge if though. So it's basically to me KP or Simmons/Ingram. Tough choice, I can see an argument for both sides. We will see how the Number 1 pick turns out for the Sixers. If offered KP for the number 1 pick right now, u think Sixers would bite on that? I kinda think they would. Sixers are at a good spot right now, only if the Number 1 pick pans out, which is more of a mystery compared to KP, since we see how he played his rookie year.

That one guy could be better than all of their guys in the future. You have to have a top 5 guy to win the title, not a bunch of good guys, but none great. Having good guys just make u the Raptors.

Some of y'all praising the Sixers now, but this place will be non stop bitching if the Knicks did their strategy and try to suck for top 3 players. I never criticize the Sixers strategy, it's a lot better than some strategies I've seen (past Knick regimes). The point is u have to be patient in building a team, and that includes enduring crappy seasons. So people wanting to be in the Sixers situation, well the Knicks can be, they just need to **** suck balls and there you go. U wanna suck balls, HIRE RAMBIS!

Yeah, plus they just got the 5th pick in the draft to add to that core. OKC isn't a desirable place to live in either, but they built up a very nice core through the draft and have been able to stay in contention for years. Minny has a good chance of doing the same.

We'll probably end up with the 7th or 8th pick, and draft Jordan Hill's long lost cousin.
