Joel Sherman seems high on him, some real life on his fastball. Was a third round pick and has impressed at every level, teams were interested in him. His K and Walk rates look impressive. On paper he looks like someone that will help starting next year. Hopefully we get Smith/Rosario as a package in a few days.

I think that's a pretty good deal for us given that Duda is nothing but a rental to TB. I guess Dominic Smith will be called up next week with Rosario.

It's all that Duda was worth so it is what it is.

smart move

The mets are going to try to compete again next year and need to revamp the bullpen. Blevens, Ramos, Familia is a good start. Plus they have another year of control of Ramos.

And in turn they take a good arm off the market thus making Reeds value go up even farther...who else is out there that is impact other than Britton and he's coming off being injured. You can make the case Ramos and Reed were the top two RP's left. We just took the only comparable comp off the market. Reed will be dealt.

Alderson made a good move. He's not averse to doing some bargain buying even as he's selling too.

Who's next on the chopping block? Reed, Cab, Walker?

Seeing Walker come back just before the deadline makes you wonder if he's being shopped. Reed can bring us something good but I really like the guy. I hope that we can get him back for next season like the Yankees did with Chapman. I do also think that Cabrera can help a playoff team being such a versatile player.

The Indians are supposed to be interested in Cabrera but I've got no other details on what we can expect to get back. TC moving him around the infield, however, should increase his value. Smart move.

The next 27 hours should see some major players say their goodbyes. Reed, Cabrera, Walker, Bruce, maybe even Granderson. Does anyone want them?

You hear any good rumors? You know Jon Heyman and Peter Gammons will be all over the radio airwaves tomorrow.

Don't the Red Sawks have like a billion good prospects? Or is that only the Celtics?

I believe you are correct, sir. Here's one of the one's that was being discussed over on AmazinAvenue. For you considering, take one Michael Chavis, a young and coming third baseman for the Sawks.

Thank you. Here's the summation on the kid:

"Summation: Has the ceiling of an everyday regular, but has a ways to go to reach that potential. Needs to make major strides defensively and continue to develop his approach and pitch recognition. Will always be a bat-first player with potential for an average hit tool and plus power. Bat would be an asset if he can stick at third base long-term, but defensive struggles could push him to an outfield corner, as he really doesn't profile at first base. Really confident player. Enthusiastic, really enjoys playing the game. Hard worker. Student of the game. Injuries have slowed his development."

I know that the Sawks have a better prospect at 3B so I'll gladly take this one off of their hands.

 bNo

That's ok. I said DC was going to kick Jon Jones ass all week long.

Honestly, I didn't have much confidence in either of them. Salas can go too. Though watch him have a great year next year. smh

It really stinks going from WS contention to having a sale.

Reed, Blevins, Duda, Cabrera, Walker, and Bruce are great guys for the club if the pitching stayed healthy. They aren't going to be that easy to replace if traded. The bullpen is very weak, and you are about to lose your set up man.
- Duda was underrated, but Dominic Smith will replace him.
- And Rosario will replace Cabrera.

But who do we have lined up to replace Reed, Blevins, Walker, and Bruce (who is having an amazing season)?

The pitching core (minus Harvey) still have at least 3 years of arbitration years left. So we will have one more shot at contending before you blow everything up.

Besides Re up Yoenis we have NOT acquired any big time free agents. And have not had any top of the Line offensive prospects develop except conforto.

Man pitching is a crap shoot every year...add Terryble on top of that..

Nats have spent big money, have developed offensive prospects in their farm. We are still paying Wright to be a mascot.

This offseason We need to pressure him into retiring. And we have to be ultra aggressive in free agency...which we won't be.

Thor Degrom matz should go nowhere though...
