Without a doubt going after either Cain or Moustokas + a reliever in the off-season.

Cain is 31. I'm hesitant to give him anything more than a 3 year contract.

We need good young players on decent contracts. Not over the hill guys on hefty contracts.

you say this yet the past 3 years

2017 - 5.22 era
2016 - 5.66 era
2015 - 5.79 era

lol

Went to the Cyclones game tonight and watched Harvey's rehab start. 12 rows off the field just to the first base side of home plate. Pitched to contact the first two innings and then blew them away striking out 3 in the third.

Which Cain are y'all talking about Lorenzo or Matt? I assumed Lorenzo.

Nice. How was his demeanor? Did he appear confident? How was his weight? How'd his slider look or was he all fastballs?

I was clearly talking about Lorenzo.

No freakin' way! I was at the game and in row M above the dugout on the first base side! Row M section 12. We might have been sitting right next to each other. How'd you like those 3 singers? And did you like King Henry? I think that he might actually be blueNorange in disguise. I'll tell you what, the Mets looked devoid of talent at this level.

Harvey looked nice and thin. His demeanor was all business...a little bit cold actually. Yes he threw some sliders and struck out a few low A ball hitters with it.

Holy ****. That's wild. I was in section 6 to the left of the dugout, row L. Got a great view of Harvey. Also the opposing starter for Aberdeen was named Harvey. He threw real good. What a shame we didn't know ahead of time. My friend who gets a 7 game plan every year I'm sure will take me again. I'll let you know.

The singers were definitely talented. But it seemed like there was a slight delay in the backup track and their voices. I'm sure they drove all the soldiers wild overseas. The King is bNo? LOL. Maybe you're right! The King is wacky, but by the end of the evening, I've had enough of The King. Can you imagine living with him? He's probably an abusive alcoholic. lol

Yep, no talent there. Well that OF from Stanford had a nice hit. But other than that, it looks like death valley in Brooklyn talent wise. Oh wait, they have the number one pick Peterson who I think is on the roster. He's a LHP out of Univ. of Oregon.

Yeah, he really looked like his old self with his new body. I think he realizes the gravity of the situation. It's put up or shut up time.

I guarantee that he'll be good next year. He'll stay healthy and won't go AWOL at all. Why? Money!

Another one bites the dust, Granderson to the Dodgers for a PTBNL.
Rene Riveria claimed by the Cubs.

It'll be interesting to see how the Wilponzis spend their money this off season.

The only small positive is that at least we're sending guys to playoff teams, so maybe that gets us a little good karma.

Been out for the season ever since training with our trainer, completely tore his ACL dead lifting.

So who is left to move? Probably only Cabrera. Does he have any value at this point? So far we've jettisoned Duda, Walker, Bruce, Reed, Rivera and Granderson. That's a lot of slots to fill next season. They were all solid professionals for us.

We might end up picking up Cab's option which is $8.5M next season. We can always trade him at the deadline next year if we look to fill a particular need. Or we can trade Cabrera now and bring back Jose at cheaper price than the $8.5M. I think it would be a good idea to keep one of them around. Both are pretty versatile in the infield.

Sad to see Grandy go, absolutely loved him during his time here.

I believe the talk is the player to be named later is Jacob Rhame, a RHP and the 28th prospect in the Dodgers system. Sandy replenishing the arms in the minors and seems poised for the pen on September at the earliest.

I know, it's like forever. Wouldn't it be something if turned out to be our no. 3 starter next year behind deGrom and Thor? Pitch 200 innings? The feel good story of the year.

Also, I hope we're not trading Wilmer Flores. He's really improved every year he's been with the team while being shuffled in and out of the lineup and being asked to play different positions. And we never hear an angry word or see any pouting from him. He's one of my favorite Mets.
