bNo is saying it.

My point is that his signing doesn't fully address our issue in the OF. Broxton is a bench piece.

wth, i'm not saying broxton isn't good defensively.

bklyn&company said it.

do not gaslight me.

Ugh. Whatever

BTW, Hector ("Tio") Santiago was only signed to a minor league contract. So, we still are without a lefty in the BP.

Nah instead we just signed Jed Lowrie to a two year deal. I mean maybe they think he'll play third? Move Frazier to first or look to move him? I don't even know...

its just an odd fit...good player and good contract but again we are bargain hunting instead of getting elite talent.

I guess Lowrie plays 3B and Frazier plays 1B until the super 2 date when Alonso will come up then Frazier goes to a bench role.

Seems like Mcneil is going to fill in around INF and OF be super utility.

my issue with this is the top and middle of the lineup is so lefty

projected:

RF - Nimmo
3B - Lowrie
2B - Cano
LF - Conforto
C - Ramos
1B - Frazier
CF - Lagares
Pitcher
SS - Rosario (don't like him 8th) so he needs to be a *double leadoff*

i guess you can swap ramos and conforto but lefty relief pitchers will be easy to use and tough righty RP for the bottom of order.

Wow, we did! I'm not sure I understand this unless there is going to be a subsequent trade coming. We logged jammed in the INF right now.

i do like that we are bringing in some guys that hit in big spots. Cano and Lowrie rake with RISP....you don't just need OPS you need guys willing and able to hit with guys on base too.

Jeb Lowrie ... eh... his best year was his contract year last year..I don't think he can duplicate last year production ... only came close once.

Ok... McNeill, T.J Rivera, Todd Frazier, Luis Guillorme should provide good infield depth... D.Smith looking like the odd man out.. or Todd Frazier might get traded? Someone has to go, good competition with P.Alonso included.

Signing still feels weird... because Lowrie is really a 2B/SS guy who needs At bats to be productive at the plate.... he barely has played 3B the last three years(15 games) or even for his career (barely over 100 games)..

Now
.. Avilan is cool..., need another lefty pitcher... hope they can trade a combo of maybe Vargas, Smith etc.....and get some ballpen pitching

Still will like to see a Starting pitcher signed to challenge Vargas, Lugo etc..

Change Frazier to Alonso and Mets are going to be really fun this year.

I think Brodie is going to bring up after April so he can get that extra year of arbitration. I do like have the Toddfather around. He's a great teammate and someone I can see as managerial material down the road.

It looks like they're not as certain about Alonzo as some here would believe. We definitely just upped our talent base a lot.

Most talented offensive mets team since we had Carlos Carlos back to back..

Would love another starter...can’t go in there counting on Vargas and be considered a contender I’m sorry he’s **** awful..let him be a mop up long man spot start..we need a legit starter to round out of the top 5..conforto and Nimmo should have huge years..

That's an unexpected signing. The infield looks pretty good. And you still have Alonso coming up. But it looks a little crowded. What will happen to Jeff McNeil and TJ Rivera now? Who is gonna get the boot? Looks like Smith is headed back to Vegas. Who do you have playing 1B till Alosno arrives? This is a good infield problem to have, so I'm not complaining.

I think the pitching is getting overlooked. Vargas and Matz are pretty poor as a 4 and 5. Vargas is not good. And Matz can't be relied on. At least there is Lugo as a spot starter. Who are our lefty specialist in the bullpen now?

Outfield will look good when Cespedes comes back and Tebow gets the call. We good.

So is the infield going to look something like this?

First half of season:

1B: Cano \ TJ
2B: Lowrie \ McNeil
SS: Rosario \
3B: Frazier \ J.D. Davis

Second Half:

1B: Alonso \ TJ
2B: Cano \ McNeil
SS: Rosario
3B: Lowire \ Frazier

(J.D. Davis Dropped)

It will be Alonso but not to start the year. No franchise costs them a year of control for basically starting someone a month later.
