Yeah, he has the weakest Defense and purer Counters than Articuno & Lugia. But, he also has the HIGHEST Attack.

Groups of 3-4 have been able to take him down. Likely really high level players.

i just caught my first Moltres today. Only had 6 premium balls. Went all curveballs + golden razz to catch it and took me about 4 premium balls (1 miss). Still a low IV (below 80%, so I need to keep hunting for more this weekend

yep, the animation in itself takes getting used to. also playing on a hot day makes your fingers a bit more slippery

Likely. ALL Raid Bosses are Level 20 when you try and catch them. All Legendaries start off with a BASE of 2 or 3% catch rate.

Having a higher level, Gold Medals in their Types, throwing curve balls, and using Golden Raspberries all increase those percentages to MUCH higher.

Keep trying tho as all it takes is just one!

Not that I'm an expert, but I think the following tips can help you out a bit:

1) Try to join a raid in a gym that you control (Valor, Instinct, Mystic). You'll get the three extra Premium Balls for controlling the gym.

2) Take your time in throwing the Premium Balls. Particularly, wait after a few animations so that you can get the birds at the right time. I spend more time trying to catch the birds than actually fighting.

3) Golden Razz + Curveballs are your best bet at increased odds.

Yep.

I ended up catching a Moltres about a half hour ago near my apt. Took me 3 tries, the first 2 of which were misses. This one has 89% IV, which is better than what I got before. I also have the best moveset I think, with Fire Spin/Overheat. I still got till tomorrow I guess. If I can get enough coins overnight, I should be able to get another Premium Raid Pass.

Only thing bothering me is that some people are just powering up their pokemon today while I want mine to die so I can get my 50 coins for the day

Moltres came out at 7PM EST (4PM PST). My guess is you'll likely see Zapdos during that same timeframe.

got out of work at 5:30pm, got home and had a quick dinner, headed out at 6:30pm. 2 zapdos raids i foud had about 10 minutes left when i got to them, and people were leaving by then. it seems like i may need to wait until the weekend.
