Chris Bosh was like the prototypical stretch 4. Long, mobile, excellent range, ability to put it on the floor, and could defend in space. Huge loss for the Heat and the game.

Obviously he should retire and move on... Walk away from the table, you've won.

Actually, it UN-screws Miami, and if Bosch is not truly in danger from his clots, this could be a Pat Riley plot. Here's why.

If Bosch plays more than 8 games this season, his salary is on the Heat's salary cap through the 2017-18 season. If he stops playing, insurance covers his salary. So this could be legitimate concern about his health, or this could be a calculated gamble to clear cap space.

I thought it only clears space in terms of an injury exception, not the full salary, and it has to be after a year?

its a forced retirement for health...relinquishes Miami cap obligation...

Yeah all of them finally hit the wall, in Amare's case, quite literally.

Klay will be that. Can't ever remember a player on Klay's level as a third option in my lifetime.

I've always really disliked Bosh (in a sports sense) but with any player, I really feel compassion when it comes down to this - to health. This is where the fan part is put aside and being a human being comes first.

I wish I could see him getting stuffed by KP for a few more years but the guys health is first. It is absolutely crazy to play at that level and be depending on a medicine! What if a small clot gets through and the guy dies on the floor in front of, essentially millions (kids, families, etc.) Just seems a bit selfish to me...

Hope he puts health ahead of everything and takes advantage of his new found time and wealth to invest in a better world.

Of course I want him to do what's right for himself and his family. I understand the desire to play and I respect the fact that he's not content to cash a check and do nothing. Didn't Serena also have blood clots? She seemed to get over them and not miss a beat so it is possible but maybe just not for Chris. I feel sorry for him. He's goofy and he helped Lebron win but he seems like a genuinely nice person and he's got young children that need him so I really hope he does the smart thing.

James Worthy might be close.

Terrible news about Bosh. Most of all, I hope he's able to live a good long life from here on out. Even without the league, this sounds like a huge risk.

You guys are all forgetting how good Bosh was when he was in Toronto. He was a 24/11/2 with a 25 PER, franchise player.

I agree notice his doctors cleared him never mind there is a hockey player playing on blood thinners which has more contact again? Miami's doctors failed he will go to the league if he wants to play and get cleared. Part of this is Pat the rat playing games and trying to distance the team from bad contracts.
