We saw this coming a mile away. Not to suggest it doesn't warrant an investigation, but the timing is clearly to avoid the accuser's name being released. It's no coincidence that this is coming out on media day either.

It's out there, but it's not really OUT there in the mainstream media yet. I don't have a source, but I have heard rumblings from here and there over the last week. I don't buy a clearly biased source like the one posted, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more official sources reporting it.

This could've been released on a Friday, but it being released on a Monday(will get an entire week of coverage), and especially Knicks media day says this is being done purposely to put pressure on Rose.

Possibly. Though from what I understand even though the plaintiff drops charges the prosecutor can still choose to continue with the case. So it's a risky ploy.

Without the plaintiff cooperation the case wouldn't have any real substance

That's what I was thinking. The state could still press charges, right? Also, if he doesn't settle and the criminal investigation doesn't lead to charges that could probably help his case.

What's the league policy for a team paying off the plaintiff in this case?

This business with the name is pretty inexplicable by the defense. It looks worse for them (ethically) plus would obviously lead to escalation in response. If there's a method to their madness, I'm not yet seeing it.

no they didn't. they made this available weeks ago. the accuser's lawyers had been threatening rose with this for some time now.

another thing, look at the date on the letter, 9/22/16. that was last thursday. today is monday 9/26/16. also knick's media day. they had been holding onto this for this very day.

Why can a woman accuse a man of rape and be anonymus at the same time? Either both are anonymus, or neither. If the accusation turns out fake, Rose's reputation is gone, while she faces no scrutiny? Doesn't seem to equal to me.

In the big picture, this doesn't matter. Rose is only with us for 1 year any way

im not trying to minimize this but the simple fact is that Rose is innocent until proven guilty

this is out of our hands and is just a distraction unless it reaches a criminal conviction
which of course it won't
because the super rich don't go to jail 99.9% of the time
this will be negotiated out as they always are

but the thing we should remember is that he's not been found guilty, we don't know what happened, he doesn't seem to have a history of this kind of thing, and his private life isn't much of our concern anyway. We want him focused and successful in NYC, thats all
