Melo and Phil need to have that conversation. It's time for Melo to move on and for the Knicks to go in a different direction.

I love Melo, but yeah its time.

KP needs us to tank so we can get a 2nd guy for him, otherwise we'll be stuck with another Ewing situation and I don't want KP to spend his whole career here waiting for a 2nd star to help him.

Also, Rodgers threw his first pick in 318 passes. Easy catch from Dallas, also.

Anyways, trade him for whatever package we can get that involves picks. Expecting a pick like what the Celtics got from BK is stupid - expect mid / late first round pick(s) + seconds + scrubs, heavily protected picks, or picks that we won't see for years.

Man. As much as I know this is the direction the franchise probably needs to go in, I really appreciate having his as a Knick.

Yea basically you just field offers, take the best one (assuming it's remotely reasonable), tank, and move on.

Totally agree!!! As a Melo fan I'd really like to see him at least be able to compete for a ring before his time is up. And the Knicks need to move on as well. Some divorces benefit both sides

If Phil was leaking that thought through Rosen (which Melo probably starting to feel), it is on! He has said he is not thinking about it at all. So that comment by Rosen about what teams he would prefer REEKS of Phil using the media to do his job and check Melos temperature.

This could be the start of the rebuild right here. His post game comments on the matter mean to me that he is open to a trade of some sort. He wasn't gonna ask for it but, he won't turn down the idea.

Best news all day.

The best possible thing we can do as an organization with a long term goal is let KP heal and live in the gym the rest of the year and ask Melo a list of 5 teams he'd play for.

Here's the thing if Phil feels it's best for Melo to stay then all these rumblings die down and that's the end of it.

Phil is in charge of every single player & contract on this team. Him going after Rose, Noah & Lee then trading Melo wouldn't make a lick of sense.

But Phil has a method to his senile madness so we'll see what the truth is.
