From a 2006 article on Love when he was in high school:
http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/prep-basketball-no-stopping-power-of-love/
"Love isn’t the only noteworthy Lake Oswego player. The roster also includes Pat Adelman, son of former NBA coach Rick Adelman, and Landon Ainge, nephew of Boston Celtics great Danny Ainge."
And on the Love/Thomas connection:

Years ago, Love and Thomas were childhood AAU basketball teammates. Thomas said he would take a two-and-a-half hour train ride to Portland, Ore., to stay with Love's family.
"And then Kevin and his dad Stan, they would come pick me up and I would stay the weekend at his house so I could play on that AAU team," Thomas said. "It's something that me and Kevin, we'll talk about. It's crazy that we're both in the NBA and he is at the level he's at, and I'm doing pretty well. To be able to say that I used to go to his house every other weekend and stay the night, and his parents used to cook dinner, and all that type of thing, it's crazy to see that."

Thats why we always say,
6 + 7 = 13
That deal is written in the stars, everyone will lose if they don't do it, gotta appease the Basketball Gods
MetaKnick13 wrote:Come on trade deadline, arrive so we can all move on with our lives. I'm 50/50 on trading Melo now, I think we should just go with this group until the end of the year. After that, we can look to move Melo with much less pressure on us to allow us to not make a terrible and hasty deal to try and make headlines (exactly what got us into this mess with Melo trade to NY).
Patience is key. Just ride it out with these guys. See who steps up and who flounders. Give KP a chance to sniff the playoff hunt (we are only about 1.5 games back from the playoffs despite our awfulness). I don't think we are bad enough to get into the top 5 lottery picks, or even the top 10. Just let this group play the year out and set up a trade for Melo over the summer when things won't be as crazy.
