Geez. The Celtics have 19-year-old Jayson Tatum, 20-year-old Jaylen Brown and Jae Crowder's contract (he's owed just $22 million over next three seasons), along with Brooklyn's 2018 first-rounder, the 2018 Lakers/Kings pick, Memphis' 2019 first-rounder (top-eight protected) and the Clippers' 2019 first-rounder (lottery protected) -- in addition to their own first-rounders going forward.

That's how you build, Wind Mills...

I wanted Clark badly on this team, I really like his game. Look for him to take some steps forward this season after being buried on the GSW bench.

Are we going to move Melo? If we don't will It be a problem during the season? If the only place he'll go is Houston it's going to be hard. This is the best I can come up with.
NY in Reggie Jackson and Leuer
Houston in Melo
Detroit in Ryan Anderson, Ariza, and future picks from Houston

Is it worth it? Who says no?

Only $1.6mil for Clark. I would have scooped up him, Troy Williams, Milos and Baker on a more team friendly contract. Oh well

That narrative of him being only a spot-up shooter is also bs. He'd have been great even at 7-8 mil.

Supposedly we're looking at Alan Anderson. Scott Perry do love his vets.

According to the Daily News article, his signing is contingent on us trading Melo.

Lee and Thomas for Ryan Anderson

koq and kuz for harkless

Would love to take those 4 out of the rotation/first 10 to allow the young guys more time and open up more spots/time to take some shots at others

Frank/sessions/baker
Thj/Dotson
Carmelo/harkless
KP/Anderson
Noah/hernangomez

You don't develop youth by just throwing them all out there together. Playing with these vets would help the development of KP, hernangomez, and frank. And allow a chance to prove their worth for guys like Dotson, baker.

Also opens up opportunity for thj to earn contract and become equal value to his contract. Because his was a 4 year deal instead of 3 is the biggest reason I don't like the deal. Imo he should be moved for a deal expiring the same year as Noah expires and hernangomez would need a new deal. Maybe mid season is when something like koq, kuz, and thj for harkless and Myers leanord or turner or both?

This guy has better handles than the PGs we've had, and he will play ball most of his lifetime. An undrafted find, originally reported by Chris Herring.

4 team trade. NYK/WASH/HOU/POR

Melo Going home.

NYK Trade: Melo + Oquinn + Courtney Lee + Kuz
NYK Receive: Ryan Anderson, Myles Leonard, Clint Capela, Moe Harkless, Washington 2nd rounder

Why for Knicks? Knicks take on 2 bad contracts but get 2 good young players and a pick in return. Keep the contracts and wait 3 years for them to expire with Noah. A lot of money coming off the books in 2020 between those 3 players.

Washington Trades: Oubre Jr, Gortat, Markeif Morris, Santorsky , Sheldon Mac +2nd rounder
Washington Recieves: Carmelo Anthony ,Kyle Oquinn , Kuz

Why for Washington? Melo could possibly waive his no trade clause to go to Washington. They could use another scorer when it comes playoff time. THey don't give up much value if they value Melo at all.

Houston Trades: Ryan Anderson, Clint Capela,
Houston Recieves: Gortat, Markieff Morris, Satanorsky, Sheldon Mac

Why for Houston? Get rid of Andersons contract at the cost of their only asset in Capela. In return they get a starting center and an upgrade at PF in Markieff Morris. Markieff can also shoot 3s so fits Dantonis system.

Portland Trades: Moe Harkless, Myles Leonard
Portland Recieves: Courtney Lee, Lance Thomas, Oubre JR

Why for Portland... Get an offensive upgrade in Lee. Thomas can shoot the ball and Oubre is a young replacement with some upside. Get out of leonards contract and gain 2 40% 3pt shooters who are good defenders.

Thoughts? I would do this deal even if we didn't receive a first from Washington. Can be made a 2nd round pick if you think more fair.

Y'all crazy if you think ryan anderson on this team with that contract is good for this team. Just let melo and I hate hit sit on the bench and make hip open his NTC. It's really that simple or let him play limited minutes. Everytime we trade we get hosed. If we are going to suck with melo or ryan anderson why do it and hurt our future with loading up on salary the purpose is to free up your salary take on bad contract to receive picks. Not just waste it for the sake of trading a horrible player.

You want to acquire assets not give a player and draft picks to anther team to unload a mental case of a player..

Whats wrong with you people. I now know why people hate people from new york. Absent minded. Im out until the season starts deuces I cant stand stupidity.

We acquire 2 young talented players in return. The contracts are up in 3 years when Noah expires. Allowing us to make a big play in the 2020 free agency which is basically 2010 all over again with big time Free agents. Let the contracts expire. Let the young core build together and then Make a big move for a player or 2 in 2020 when roughly 47 million dollars comes off the cap.

What if we re-invested in Carmelo Anthony in the Post-Phil Jackson era and used him to recruit LeBron James?

Spoiler:
If we tank properly we're good

Lee, LT and Noah should get traded...

Lottery pick, younger developed in the process and Melo recruiting his buddies in next two summers

You need another team to be interested in trading for the players you're trying to trade, Lee and LT perhaps can be traded but no one is taking Noah.

how about trading kuzminskas for jerian grant ?

with mike beasley , Kuz is the odd man out but he can play , he's a big 3 at 6'9 and plays a style that fits hoiberg's offense plus since the bulls have acquired cameron payne and kris dunn , 3 point guards on their rookie deals all gunning for the same spot is a potential nightmare more importantly the bulls dont really have a true 3 on the roster if they dont do a deal they will either be forced to resign mirotic and then play him there (although he is a better fit at the 3 ) or try zipster and valentine there and while zipster is 6'8 its more likely he should be groomed for a back up at this stage

for the knicks grant fits a role as a pass 1st point guard who is defense oriented and is 2 guard sized , hornacek like to run 2 point guard line ups and with beasley kuzminkas is an extra player who doesnt have a defined role (melo is a primary scorer , thomas is defender and beasley is an offensive player as is kuz although kuz looks to be a better defender than beasley)

its a trade that alleviates a glut for both teams while potentially filling a hole
