Literally the only good draft pick they made during the DMC era. And they gave him away

Isaiah dropping to 60 was a travesty. I was on record on this site screaming for the Knicks to grab IT. Dude was an absolute baller in Washington, and an alpha in tournament play. I still remember playing NCAA March Madness with Washington because of IT and Dante Cunningham. No reason Nate went in the 1st round and IT went pick #60.

My hot take of the day is that I think prime Nate Robinson could've been just as good as Isaiah Thomas if under the proper coaching, usage, and opportunity. IT was getting the journeyman/6th man rep pretty quickly until Boston allowed him to flourish.

In '08, Nate had like an 8 game streak of dropping 30 points, doing it in only 25 MPG.

So who's that guy in this draft? The HOU pick wil be in the 50's

If we're speaking solely on midget lightning rods...Marcus Keene.

-15/30 gm's scoring 30pts or more.
-Six 40pt+ games
-And a 50pt game

My chances might only be slightly less likely.

There is a very good chance the Pelicans don't make the playoffs, so the Kings get a lottery pick, they also get Buddy Hield, who was just a lottery pick last year and its way too soon to call him a bust. Thibs actually said recently he's a "big fan" of Hield and that he'd have a terrific career. The most important part of the deal, IMO, is that the Kings got rid of Cousins in order to keep their pick this year; they were winning too many games to keep their pick with Cousins, and dealing their best player was the best chance at keeping a top 10 pick in a loaded draft.

So essentially the Kings got:
Hield
potentially 2 Lottery picks in 2017 (one of which is top 10, and the other from the Pelicans is currently at #6)
Galloway (solid bench piece)

doubt they resign Evans

The Kings could potentially have 2 top 10 picks. I'm jealous, especially in this draft

The Kings trying to keep their own pick by losing doesn't really have anything to do with trading Cousins for pocket change. If they had gotten a better package (as is the argument that most folks are making) it still would have involved Cousins leaving the team and the team losing, no? So you can't really use that as an argument to justify the trade.

Midget guard that gets underlooked because of size? I loved Tyler Ulis last year. He went like 33 though.

I like Jawun Evans and Melo Trimble this year. Don't know if either have NBA skill sets though. Maybe Evans.

I like Melo Trimble but, I don't think he makes it in the NBA. He has a lot going against him. He's got really short arms for a guard which is devastating at that position defensively. He doesn't shoot all too well nor pass it really well. He's a combo guard scorer who isn't the greatest defender and with short arms is going to have trouble guarding long 6'5" 6'6" sg's in the NBA. And he's not fast enough to chase 1's around. He'll probably be better off overseas.

Yeah, he's one of those great college players that I don't think will be pros. Maryland is a super sleeper team this year in the tourney, and I trust Melo as the lead dog.

Assuming the Knicks dont get a top 5 pick. I think they should look to see if they can swap picks with Denver and acquire Mudiay since they seem to prefer Jamal Murray.

at the time, that was the best offer on the table though. Vlade had a better deal earlier but Cousins agents blew it up and scared off teams. They were pressed to do the deal before the deadline so that they wouldn't win and send their pick to CHI

Sorry man, that's not happening.

The Fultz - Brown - Ayton core is the future man.

Then why did you sign Horford and hope to sign Hayward? Either you go for it now or rebuild. Looks like Ainge is not committing to either.

agree completely, last nights win over CLE showed me that they'll be competitive in a 7 game playoff series with Cavs and it won't be easy for Cavs, but we all know Cavs will ultimately win. Had Ainge gone and gotten a star at the deadline and parted with some young assets like the picks or Brown, they'd have a good chance of beating the Cavs in the playoffs; this is the year to do it; Love is injured and you don't know if he'll be 100% for the playoffs

Why not try for both? Horford's a nice player. Getting Hayward would mean Bradley is gone (Unfortunately) but would make us better.

Id like trade for Jimmy Butler, but kinda realistically, we'd have -- Thomas - Hayward - Crowder - Horford leading us now & have Fultz, Smart, Brown, 2018 Big playing big mins off the bench until the they're ready to really get it.

& it's not perfect. Money & playing time will be an issue, but if we're 50-55 win team already. that'll solve some issues.

Danny got some stuff to figure out, & while we're not "real" contenders, but if we can be a fun Semi's-ECF team while prepping for the next decade, it's a good place to be.

My only with Ainge is that he coulda filled the desperate need for a rebounding big. No excuse. Horford can't move anymore. Would been nice to get Noel. Heard Danny offered a 1st for him too, but BC didn't wnana move him in their div? Dumb but he would helped.

There is a way to do both. You have enough assets to acquire 2 stars if you wanted to. Brown, Smart, both Nets picks, the 2019 LA, MEM picks. I honestly would have taken a package of Brown and 2019 MEM pick for Melo. A lineup of IT-Bradley-Crowder-Melo-Hordord would have been very competitive with the Cavs.

A Fred Kerber article (NY Post) on PG frontier for the NY Knicks. Doesn't look good. With the exception of Ball and Fultz, the PGs in the draft seem to have some major flaw in their game, be it an inability to shoot or play defense or just being a raw talent who can go either way down the road.

If Lakers hold on to their pick and are able to draft Ball, you think Magic would trade Deangelo Russel for Melo?

I didn't think they could hold that pick
Is it still top 3 protected?

I'll be disgusted if the lakers steal another pick

Yep, top 3 protection
Same as the Pelicans
