Build-A-Label: 1.0(Signups, Rules and Discussion)

Post#302 » by Phish Tank » Sun Aug 20, 2017 4:54 am

Just a small clarification on groups:

I stated earlier that rap groups or r&b groups can only be chosen if none of the members have made a solo album. Therefore, a group like Destiny's Child or Wu-Tang Clan would be out. However, the Beatnuts, De La Soul, and M.o.P. would be allowed as none of the artists made a solo album. This was primarily done to remove any sort or ambiguity that occurred with groups being chosen and then certain teams having an unfair advantage with certain groups. I know that this causes an issue with a group like Mobb Deep, Gang Starr, Eric B and Rakim, amongst others. However, the only way for this to be fair is by going with an all-or-nothing approach.

This issue also includes production groups too. However, there aren't many to choose from. If none of the members of the group have production credits as a solo producer, the group can be taken. If you choose Pharrell, you can't have Chad.

This will probably be a bit of a nuisance and might have to be cleaned up a bit before draft, but it's only fair that way.

Phish already said you can have up to 5 producers.

7 rappers
3 singers
1 producer

4 WILDCARDS

Are you even watching what is going down?

At the same time, put your self in my shoes, I didn't want someone commishing that had an all out assault on my squad just so I can lose in the finals which I didn't + admitting how much you hate me as well.

When I hear that I'm obv gonna feel type shook of you having power to screw me

No.

Because I don't have the power to do **** to you.

You're in here saying people want me gone. I guess I should feel some type of way.

Just to be clear groups would have to be manually put together using picks.

For isntance:

You have to pick Jay-Z
And spend another pick on Kanye

You can't simply pick The Throne.

That's the set up right?

I can see some people trying to stop others from drafting a group tho (since there is only a few amount of them)

I also just had this crazy idea for drafting.

How about a timestamp draft?
We would set a time where all drafts picks are placed(in the draft thread). First come first serve. If someone beats you to the punch than you get to pick again until your the first to pick an artist.

The draft thread would be lit everyday with no waiting for someone to make a pick for hours.

What do you guys think?

You mean like an auction? But without the list

It would be done in the draft thread though.

Not everyone can commit to certain times. You need a draft order. What you can do is make set hours and you get auto skipped after those 2-3 hours are up. Time stamp them in a snake format, not a free for all.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

Free for all probably won't work and isn't fair for those members not in the same time zone as us. Plus it'll pretty much destroy the draft.

I would think Balance, Sound chemistry, lyrical ability, delivery, style.

But judges should really use their own opinions in what would be the best label today.
