So I was listening to the Stephen A Smith show earlier from Friday & he started to talk about some of the things he was hearing "behind the scenes". Most of us heard about this alleged 5 team trade that was being discussed, where Cavs would've acquired Melo & Paul George. That's at the 29:16 mark, but according to "his reliable sources" there was another big deal mentioned.

At the 32:18 mark


Supposedly the Spurs called about Porzingis & even offered up Kawhi Leonard in the deal, willing to rebuild with KP. Supposedly the Spurs backed out at the end. Thoughts?

If this was discussed already in another thread, my bad, there's so much going on in different threads that I can't keep up.

I'm absolutely not clicking on a SAS video, but if the Spurs offered Kawhi (slim chance), then that shows KP''s value and we should be happy AF.

Exactly it's even more reason to keep him. Also means the Spurs know GSW will run the NBA for a while.

If we got Kawhi for KP, maybe that helps us in FA, but outside of that, we are still a 1st or 2nd round exit and with a player who is 5 or so years older. I'd prefer to stay young and see what we can build.

I don't believe SAS, but just the fact that Kawhi Leonard was even in the conversation makes me rethink trading KP for Josh Jackson & Jaylen Brown & young picks+assets.

kawhi wouldn't come to NY. he's too good/humble of a person/player for this mess.
