No major news here, I think it's clear we need to rebuild but maybe Carmelo has his value go up a bit with the Knicks holding onto him tighter, and teams looking to make trades in order to compete with the Warriors (HOU, CLE, BOS)

Phil has done so much damage though. If we can't find a proper trade you simply let him play out his contract until you find a proper one or he expires.

New Jersey is really close too. Damn - with LaLa actually talking trade it sounds like they were just playing cleanup crew on the way out with PJax.

so we fired Phil in part because he wanted to buyout Melo but we're adamant about trading Melo? not sure that adds up but i'm ready and down for whatever...

You don't buy out a healthy guy who just scored 22 points a game the previous season. You don't do it because you don't have to. You can be patient. Someone will eventually give us assets for Carmelo. Jackson was a freaking idiot for wanting to buy him out. So glad he's gone.
