True, but in 2017, DRose earned $21.32 M. He's being offered LESS than 10% of what he earned last year. LESS than half of what we're paying Burgundy.

I know he may be taking less in the hope he improves from his knee surgery and he wants a chance to play with Lebron, but jeez, this is over a 90% pay cut. That's got to hurt!

On the plus side, I hear it's the league's first 3-Way deal.

Sean Marks is so overrated. Crabbes contract is every bit as bad as THJrs if not worse.

Crabbe is garbage, but he does fit Brooklyn's 3 point spamming system. I would have rather just keep or stretch Nicholson myself but at least they are trying to improve this season to not give the Celtics a better pick.

I'd like to get Ian Clark on this roster pronto.

After offsetting the Nicholson money (a sunk cost that the Nets were already paid a 1st rounder from the Wiz to eat), they are effectively paying Crabbe about 37M over 3yr.

so a lottery protected first to pay a guy that was 363rd in the league in RPM 56 million over the next three years.

great.

They need the 3pt shooting. Last season, the Nets were amongst the top of the league in 3pt attempts per game, alongside elite teams in the league, despite not hitting them at a good rate. They are building the foundation and putting a system in place, and now they need 3pt shooters who can actually convert better.

Top 5 teams last season in 3pt attempts: Rockets, Cavs, Celtics, Nets, Warriors.

One of the above is not like the others.

Crabbe's 3pt shooting should fit well in the modern offensive system that they are building.

And I think most fans here would be thrilled if the Knicks could get a 1st rounder for paying THJ his contract.

It's all about the spin job $18 million per year for 2 years + PO for the third.
Can be viewed as a possible 2 years 24 million in new money deal.
But their GM really seems to want this guy on the team not sure I get it other than they really want to make a playoff run in the weak East. Crabbe also legit wanted to be there since he waved his trade kicker. Really this is an opportunity cost type of deal.

hardaway is actually a productive basketball player so yeah they're not comparable, don't bother trying to.

you can pluck guys up off the street if hitting threes and running the floor is the only thing you care about. bill walker still needs a job.

IMO they are very similarly ranked players. I wasn't a huge fan of the Hardaway signing or the Crabbe trade for Jersey.

Both will probably surpass previous production points though.

you're really comparing young players using their career numbers?

hardaway sucked and turned himself into the 15th ranked shooting guard in rpm. crabbe spent the last two years being the same player and was 73rd last year.

I get you but still think we overpaid for Timmy. Would have rathered developed Dotson or see if Frank can be honed into a playmaking and sharpshooting wing.

I have a feeling we will regret not having that extra cap space for potential trades.
