Is Melo a child? How about we tell him we won't trade him now

My feelings exactly Fury... I could care less what Melo wants...He can rot on the bench for all I care. You want Houston Melo tell Houston to bend over like you told us seven years ago...Hopefully the Knicks make some of us proud and hold their ground on this...

So Melo told us to bend over?

I dunno homes, you talking noise about my AVY when you got that weird looking dude in yours. Let's get back to talking basketball if you can raise your game up and contribute a bit.

Knicks are not ready for Kyrie, IMHO, bad timing. I DO NOT wanna trade Billy or frank. Wanna build this right. Is Kyrie willing to be part of rebuild, him and KP together is interesting tho. But I think its best for both parties that no deal is made.

They had a press conference--perhaps you saw it http://www.nba.com/knicks/video/. I decided to revisit it and for the sake of ease I have plucked the most salient quotes for you-- you're welcome:

Mills: emphasize youth, athleticism, teamwork, and defense. They are committed to building, rebuilding around the core four, and keep all their picks. Player development will be a focus, both young and veterans. The message will be consistent and all transactions will be based on youth, athleticism, and defense. These are Mills own words.
Perry: excited about the team being young and energetic, excited about the young core players.
Hornacek: establish has to be defense first, not trying to outscore opponents. Everybody plays hard but on a higher level, really competing, keep them accountable. More diving for balls, taking charges. More pride in getting stops. More defensive pressure leads to more running. No standing around, cutting hard, have fun making plays for others. The great teams enjoy passing the ball. Emphasis on players playing in a manner that is good for the team and not in a manner that is merely good for themselves.

My takeaway from these comments is that Melo is no longer and can no longer be the focus and he will be asked to play a supporting role to the overarching aims of the team moving forward. With that in mind, you and others who scoff at the notion need to ask yourself what is so objectionable to his coming off the bench as a sixth man because that is an increasing possibility as we hurtle towards October. Why would he have a problem with that and if he does why are you identifying with his feelings, feelings based so clearly on false pride, vanity, ego, conceitedness, hubris?

Stop insulting people when you can't even differentiate between what was actually said and what you infer on what was said based on your own feelings about the subject when in fact that **** was never actually said.

Now go back and find where anyone in the Knicks organization said Melo will come off the bench if he'll still here. An actual quote from either the owner, POBO, GM or coach. Go find that. Until then, you're making **** up.

Last response to you since you can't stop insulting me.

I quoted them word for word. Interpret them as you see fit. I don't see how you get Melo starting, with no other possibility, from those quotes. Melo can either embrace the sixth man role, if it is presented to him, or he can sulk and go all Towelbury on the Knicks.

I never insulted you. Your scoffing at a possible scenario of his being a great sixth man this season is the issue, and I pointed that out. Your crying foul is misdirection, kind of like internet flopping.

Even if Melo goes to Houston, if you can squeeze 1 or 2 1st round picks, you can ship them off to Cleveland I guess, right?

A package of Lee, KOQ and 3 first round picks.

I think the hold off is Zhou Qi (aug 3rd). Cleveland would like that. But question is will Houston trade him for Melo?
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

Technically, we can do both Trades.

A pair of Protected firsts, CLee, and KOQ for Kyrie and then Melo to Houston.

We can even reroute something from the Melo trade to Cleveland separately for Kyrie too.

A 4 way deal where Melo goes to Hou and Kyrie comes to NY, with Portland taking Anderson, should be the final framework of this deal. I think it works for all parties, but we would have to give up two firsts to Clev (maybe get one from Houston and use that in the deal)

Knicks in:
Kyrie
Shumpert (salary dump for Cavs)
Harkless

Houston in:
Melo
Meyers Leonard (Salary dump for Portland)

Portland in:
Ryan Anderson

Cavs in:
Gordon
Ariza
Oquinn
Kuzminskas
two firsts (either two from NY, or 1 from NY and 1 from Hou)

Separate (especially how Melo doesn't want Cleveland as a first option and Cleveland doesn't really want him).

Melo trade to Houston as normal.
Then Dual firsts, CLee, KOQ and filler for Kyrie. Maybe even routing something (say youth or pick) from the Melo deal to Cleveland as well.

Could come away with Kyrie and say Harmless.

If that could work absolutely. I'm surprised the Cavs wouldn't want Melo tho. Doesn't making it separate make it more complicated tho? With the salary cap and such?

New day, same folks still blaming Melo for everything

They blame him for the trade that the FRONT OFFICE made.

They blame him for the roster decisions during his tenure that the FRONT OFFICE made.

They blame him for exercising the NTC that was negotiated in his contract. A decision the FRONT OFFICE made.

If the Knicks trade for Kyrie, is that Kyrie's fault?

Is it KP's fault if Frank doesn't have a career close to DSJ or Monk?

Is it Noah's fault that he has the worst contract in basketball?

Blame the people who make the decisions. It's long overdue that these same folks in the fan base hold the FO accountable, instead of talking yourselves into supporting the bad decisions at the time they're made and then blaming the players afterwards.

Or don't. It's your fandom. The choice to look at the situation irrationally is always an option.

Lol Cavs won't accept Lee, KOQ & a few 1sts for Kyrie.
They're gonna want Frank added.

Cousins, Butler & PG all netted at least 1 promising prospect.
