And even if he's more efficient now, his defense is even worse. He makes Melo look like a good defender.

What's Melos career TS%?

54.4%, which is a big difference.

Thanks. I don't have a clue how all these new numbers like PER and TS% etc work. 3% doesn't seem like much. Melo is the better player though.

1ST. Beas efficiency has dramatically improved over the past two years since returning from China.

Beas TS%
2014/15 - 56.3
2016/17 - 58.4

Carmelo TS%
2015/16 - 53.0
2016/17 - 53.5

2nd. I've watched both players and Beas is certainly a better defender than Carmelo.

Wow...so career wise Beasley is coming into his prime and Melo is fading according to these numbers.

Exactly. And I meant 2015/16 for the 56.3.

Yeah lets build an all defensive team with no one to score. He fits the not too old, cheap, and athletic structure. And if you MF's say 28 is old ill smack you bc im 28 lol.

Based on last seasons advanced stats, Beasley would be the best defensive forward on the team.

While Beasley's interview recently was scary (for those that have never heard Beasley talk in an interview...he's spacy like that...nothing new) there's very little harm with having Beasley on the team. If he becomes a problem you drop him. If he does well then they can either consider keeping him or look to move him to a team for some sort of asset. Asset...the thing that they have very little of.

I mentioned in a thread a few months back that I think Beasley is likely a better player than Melo at this point in their careers. This assumes that Melo declines a little this season and Beasley's last two seasons weren't flukes.

Damn did I just read that Beas is arguebly better than melo now LOL

If he got starters minutes hed be a nifhtmare. The bucks and Houston had him in a proper role. The NBA can't handle to much of the beas at once 15-20 mins a game

What did I just read? Beasley better than Melo? .... you all need to stop sniffing that coco...

Watch when the trading Deadline come around.. you all be ok with trading Melo for two 2nd round picks... SMH

Melo is a NBA All-Star player..... not a bench player... stop your nonsense.

It's all Phil's fault. See how much he killed Me7o's value?

Beasley is a more complete offensive player than Derrick Williams on a similar deal and I thought that signing was pretty damn good.

Melo hasn't been an all-star for two seasons statistically. He isn't top 20 in any meaningful category except usage. He is 66th in PER. His True Shooting % ranks 211th. He obviously has more value than Beasley but please stop pretending Melo is anything but a high volume chucker at this point in his career.

Melo has undeniably declined.

He has not declined to the point where Beasley has surpassed him.
