Michael Beasley is going to have a whack season and I cant believe that anyone would have high expectations for him. Hopefully he plays the role his contract implies and no more. Just a bench guy. Good signing in that role but if you expect any more than that you are buggin.

You will see just how wrong you are.

So what are your realistic projections for him stats wise this season?

BENCH MINUTES
13/4

STARTER MINUTES
17/7/3
PTS/REB/AST

52% FG
38% 3PT

Actually, I expect a bit more but this is the bare minimum which, still, is more than what ninety percent of all minimum players will provide next season.

My laptop literally started shooting out sparks. It's now a fire hazard that I won't be using. Picking up some sort of mac when the stores open, will and1 this evening. In the mean time you guys can just keep posting appreciation about beas.

The more I think about this move, the more I sense some 16-17 Waiters vibes from this signing. Minimum deal, low risk high reward deal, some people trashing already without giving a chance first.

I really hope Beas thrives with y'all and I know he WILL. :)

I don't mind looking at mixes of players the Knicks have gotten if they are reflective of the player traded for. Age or injury hasn't robbed Beas of anything in these highlights; he's still prime age and no significant injury history. He's another one of those high draft picks that didn't pan to a star but is a good player (with flaws) that will produce off the bench with regular minutes and produce more (stat wise) if given starters minutes, though that may not be where a team wants to be. Sort of more offensively well rounded Derrick Williams. No, not similar games, but un-achieving former high first rounder who can do some good things, is good talent for a bench.

I would some how love to see us trade melo and put beasley into the start SF position, I feel like he can score just as well and more in the fluid of offense then melo.

I pray this happens. This season would be hella fun to watch with

Frank/Ramon/Baker
ThjR/LEE/dotson
Beasley/dotson/LT
Kp/Quinn
Will/noah/quinn

OMG its so refreshing we got sasha off this team. like my god such dead weight ....

LOL people need to stop thinking Beasley is Melo. There is a reason he's on his 6th team and signed for the minimum.

Probably 5 shots out of 100, Beas looks like prime Melo. 50 shots out of 100, he looks poor. The rest are somewhere in between. But his D is a lot like Melo's.

Beasley seems to be a guy, and this is his career stats, if you give him 23 minutes, he'll get 12 and 5. Give him more minutes, he'll produce more, less, you get less points. That's good bench scoring production. I get his D isn't that great. That's why he's off the bench. It's a good signing. Would have been good at 2/3 years, at 1, unquestionable good signing.

Yes, we got a good deal for what we paid. That's why all this crazy talk about him being "just as good as..." (name any star) is nuts. He was a high draft pick but he was never an NBA star. But off the bench, he might give us a scoring punch when the offense is flat. Who did we have to do that last year? Based on usage, I think it must have been Sasha. But he was clearly not suited for the role.

Because Shabazz is undersized and would be more suitable at SG where we're stacked, whereas Beasley can play both SF and PF effectively.

Here's a video that says Beasly is good in transition - something we lack.

he can play SF
anyways I'm not mad about the Beasley signing, I just think shabazz would be a better option since he has more upside
