How dare you? Why are we paying you the big bucks?

Still looking for that paycheck tbh
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

my guess it went something like this

- nba didn't work out for him
- he goes overseas
- finds success
- loves where he's at in life
- becomes a citizen of slovenia

also he was born in germany, he's an army brat ... dude probably has been all over the world.

He played in the Spanish league, not Slovenian. Playing for the Slovenian national team is just an additional source of income during the offseason. Many European countries naturalize players and sign them to a contract to represent their national teams. It's perverted and I'm happy my country isn't doing that and doesn't plan to.

Surprising, since most naturalized players get paid big bucks. Then the only other explanation is that he wanted to get an EU passport so he would have more career options in Europe since in most leagues there's only a certain amount of non-EU players allowed per team.

* 12 Roster = 7 Foreigners, 5 Domestic Players

5 Home Grown Player, (at least three years from 14 to 20 year old in one of the domestic teams)

2 Non-Europe Passport player, (mostly USA)

5 Europe & Cotonou Passport player

Officially probably not.

But what other incentive, besides money, does he have to play for them?

Does being european has benefits playing in Europe? I don't think any league has legionnaire limits only for NA players, and not for European ones.

He gets EU passport which raises his value with European clubs. That's the only incentive he has.

Gonna stream Lithuania game vs Greece.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.
