He was on the 25 candidate long list but doesn't look like he made the cut for the final roster. Granted, the other guards picked appear to be more seasoned.

On Offense, he really has that Marc Gasol potential.

We have Porzingis as a growing 2-way Player to help cover WillyG's less developed Defensive game, and Frank/CLee on the Wings.

I really feel strongly that if Willy adds just a little bit of outside game (which I'm confident he will because he flashed it towards the end of his rookie year) and KP adds just a bit of post/inside game, that together they are going to be a real problem for the rest of the league.

Even now, Porzingis operates in the midrange a lot too, so he's hardly in WillyG's way. I agree, they can very well and likely will be our F/C duo of the future.

Exactly. I really pointed out that about the other aspects of their games, that to add wrinkles and variationwill keep defenses guessing. It's already a good combo of skills. Adding those things for both of them leads to more where both guys can go in or out, randomly. (within reason)

Did you hear anything new/update locally about his knee?

Nothing is wrong with it. I don't think it even ever was. Coach decided to sit him and the main PG out against Romania and needed something to say tbh. It is still an issue of selecting 2 or 3 guys to be dropped from the final squad which will travel to Turkey, he needed bigger rotation

Which of our young prospects is he better than? Who would you send downstairs to the DG League?

Man Willy should help KP with those post moves and KP can help Willy with defense.

I like Willy but he's always rubbed me as more of Kanter type player. That has its value but not really a starting caliber player imo. That defense is pretty bad. His feet are so slow and he's often lost on rotations. He has a big body that can disrupt guys that try to bang with him one on one. If he can improve it to being below average that would be huge.
