Who needs to spend $5? We already got the story. LOL. Besides, your comment has nothing to do with the substance of the article.

That wasn't even the whole story. You have to pay to read the whole thing. I aint supporting someone who isn't a reliable source
This all sounds like BS
The rest of the details in the piece are fascinating. Apparently at one point, Porzingis developed a habit of parking in spots designated for management at the team’s practice facility.

Why do you think KP missed the meeting? Because of he didn't like the way Phil was treating Melo? That makes even less sense.

I believe that this can be partialy true. I believe that Horn was riding KP because this is not the first time it has been reported that Jeff is harsh to him. Also KP does have some tendencies that seem he is soft, however I don't think Jeffs approach to force KP go banging like he is Rodman or whoever is the right way because KP is a fragile giant.
Anyways I believe that there is some truth to this and I'm 100% sure for this story to be continued through next season.
Can't wait!!!

I don't know if I am convinced. Why would Jeff tell that to Willy not KP directly? Is he a pussy too? They weren't on talking terms during the season as well? And why would KP start talking to Jeff again then, that is an even bigger mystery in this story.. I doubt Hornacek has changed his mind on KP's playing style.
Our national coach said (when KP was drafted) that he's ready only to sit on a bench in NBA. KP took it to the heart to prove otherwise, but he's working with the said coach now and they don't have any problems between them.
I doubt we'll ever know the whole truth anytime soon, if at all. It's just reporters don't have anything else to write about.

But let's be honest here. The story that KP skipped the meeting because of the Phil-Melo feud also never seemed that plausible. On the other hand I believe that Phil would have been aware of the feud between Hornacek and KP, right? Phil at least never pointed to other stuff going on when asked about the exit meeting.

Both stories seem unconvincing. It probably is much more complex story and reporters are just clutching at straws to get anything. I would think KP would maybe have such a reaction if somebody from team management would say something about his family (brother(s)) that he would regard as insulting or unwarranted... But even then it doesn't quite explain the whole situation.

Oh look, more proof we don't know why he skipped that meeting.
I don't like Heffe or Phillip so I don't give a damn really.

Taken from another forum since i doubt any of us are paying $5 just to read said article.
Here's snippets of the actual text. He kinda rambles from time to time, but he prefaces this with saying that he's never written anything negative about Jeff since he met him back in the 80s and noting that some players consider him "soft".
Text:
Hornacek finds himself in a corresponding insecure position. Like Hoiberg, he seldom, if ever, chastised Carmelo Anthony. On the other hand, he would reproach Porzingis in front of the team, an approach that offended his sensibilities. Some players can be tongue-lashed publicly with no ill effects. A sensitive soul, Porzingis evidently wished his scolding were private.
My initial snitch alleged Porzingis’ swagger swelled in direct proportion to his mounting stature with the Knicks and within the NBA. He resented being singled out for criticism and acted out accordingly. He developed an annoying habit, for example, of parking in spots at the team’s practice facility designated for management. By then, utter alienation already had occurred.
Willy Hernangomez is Porzingis’ best friend on the Knicks. Mindlessly, Hornacek got Hernangomez alone one dreadful day and conveyed to him what he should’ve conveyed to Porzingis face-to-face: “Tell your guy to stop playing like a pussy!”

People forget, Jeff played for Jerry Sloan. He was calling out the team for being soft when they were winning briefly early last season. Jeff probably thinks the whole damn team plays soft. It explains why he loves RON BAKER so much. Ron does not play soft!

But seriously, its possible there was an issue between Jeff and KP..
I always thought the main problem KP had with Phil, is his involvement in teams actual playing regime. (You gonna run the triangle, you are shooting too much threes etc..)
But if you think about it, Jeff is the one who could've said, nah, I'am running what I want to run. I'am the coach.
But nah, Jeff got hired as a puppet, so he was playing his role.
About that pussy comment. I don't see Jeff as that kind of guy. He seems soft. But in the other hand, he didn't approach KP directly with that, and went to his guy to get him the message. Soft move, so perhaps it is indeed true.

Very interesting stuff. Thanks for posting.
I think Hornacek is gonna be fired after the season so it isn't that big a deal but it is still interesting to know. Actually I believe this is true----this would explain why Hornacek was reluctant to play Porzingis at the 5 more. If he thinks of Porzingis as soft, then it makes sense for Hornacek not to play him there.
