Melo, KP and Shved would be an all-NBA chuck team.

Every one of them just doesn't give a ****.

Greece in the group stages and Greece in play-offs are two different teams. Likewise the reffing - today it's completely different approach to physical play, contact and fouls than yesterday. Why can't they have the same approach in all the games?

Probably explains why noone passes to KP when he plays on the Knicks. They all hate that chucker.

Even KP after the game, gave himself kind of excuse saying he is a PF playing at Center, so grabbing rebounds is a problem for their team.

I dont get this bitching about his rebouding..That was teams problem.Look how they switch players..Other team plays pick n rolls all day,and somehow KP guards 2-3 position players like 75% of time.He cant run from 3pt line to the basket and grab them..Yeah he lost few of them..If KP plays 4,then hes lethal at D,because no1 will go under the basket to score.Hes forced to play like that.

What do you want to argue here? Iām not bitching. I just know that some people are excited about KP at 5, Melo at 4.

And I'ma just saying that after watching KP play C at Eurobasket, that its a bad idea. At PF he is decent. At C I doubt he would be even average against NBA bigs. You add Melo at PF (I know Melo is/was a good rebounder for a SF), and it would be ugly.

And clearly KP still sees himself as PF. Thats why he added the last comment. (I'am PF, playing as center)

Just run KP+Willy and try to work it out.

His rebounding looked a lot different before he banged his knee against Lithuania. So it could have something to do with it. Before that he either got double double or was close to it. I even remember thinking that he actually looks better at rebounding than I thought.

First half the refereeing was totally in favor of Slovenia. No wonder there were no replays after 3 of 4 very questionable calls on the latvian players although there were always replays on other fouls. Then they slowly balanced the game. Still really bad officiating overall. In the end KP didn't get whistled for a 100% 5th foul on a 3pt attempt though but then again Randolph should have gotten a flagrant foul.

Slovenians played quite dirty, especially Randolph. So you shouldn't be mad but rather thankful.

Officiating was plain bad, not in favour of anyone. And anyone that supports a team with Janis Timma on it doesn't get to accuse others of dirty play.

At first it was in favor of Slovenia but later on in favor of Latvia. And yes, it was bad all the time. :)

Timma usually isn't dirty so someone probably did something to really piss him off. Also, he had been called for ticky tack fouls 2 or 3 last games already so that probably got on his nerves as well.

Anyway, now that the emotions have calmed down a bit, I wish Slovenia success in the further games! I wish you to beat Spain!

Timma has a reputation of being dirty. Jaka Blazic explicitly said that after the game. I also remember him against Serbia (I think) where he deliberately kicked a player in the head while pretending to fight for a loose ball.

Regarding the referees, here are some examples off the top of my head:

Dragic fell to the ground with both of his feet up in the air twice. And wasn't called for the travel on neither occasion. I just checked that it is indeed a travel: "It is traveling when a player falls to the playing court while holding the ball without maintaining a pivot foot."

KP's offensive foul (3rd I think) where he and Vidmar ran into each other. That was key because KP couldn't be as aggressive anymore.

There were many more phantom calls on the latvian players that I recall.

At the end it should have been a flagrant or tech on Randolph only. It's normal for a player to react emotionally to such provocation. What did KP had to do - let Randolph dislocate his shoulder and get away with it?

On the other hand KP didn't get whistled when he ran over a slovenian player shooting a 3pt attempt which was a 100% foul and got free throws after he was clearly blocked.

Of course there were much more bad calls on both teams but latvians were on the bad side of those calls many times as well. And I clearly counted more errors against Latvia than against Slovenia.

Regarding Bertans' elbow - he was raising his hands as he always does when setting a screen. Dragic is much shorter and therefore was an unlucky victim of that situation.

Yes. Today (Thursday) first semifinal, Spain v Slovenia (it's 2.30 pm NY time, I believe), Friday the other semifinal, Russia v Serbia. Gold medal and bronze medal matches will be on Sunday.

Meanwhile Latvia finished in 5th place, best ever since regaining independence. KP best scorer (23.6 ppg, 53.4% FG, 37.5% 3P, 89.6% FT), best in rebounds (5.9 rpg) and best in efficiency (23.4) in the team.

Now that the first pain of loss has somewhat gone. But not completely. We had a team that under some favorable circumstances could have won the whole thing. Now it is a pipe dream for 4 more years when there is a question if they can assemble the same core bunch of guys (injuries, team obligations, who knows what). It is a long time. However, it raised hoops popularity in Latvia to new heights, which is good. Just find new coaches with a different mentality. On a positive note: I hope that KP proved that he has heart and skills to be be a (one of the) leader to lead NYK to a better future. That's consoling. Thanks for the support, New Yorkers through the whole thing!

I would discount a few of them. Minutes per game? Thanks for not overloading the kid. And yes STLPG is overrated. Boy did well.
