Stanley's not developing, he's just a young scrub. Most old scrubs were once young scrubs. He's actually worse than both Lance and Sessions.

Sometimes players are used the wrong way on teams. He’s being used as a 3 and D guy when that’s not really his game. He’s a slasher who plays physically. Put him in a situation where he gets to play to his strengths and you will see his value.

People are mentioning Tristan Thompson who absolutely sucked before Lebron. When Lebron arrived he instantly gained value as a rim diver. Same player, different usage/role.

I agree with the sentiment but that’s a bad example. Lebron can make anyone better. Problem is, there’s only one Lebron. Tristan simply gets dunks and open looks because of the attention Lebron draws.

Wings that can’t shoot will always clog an offense. If Stanley’s going to get better he’s gonna have to improve his shot. I’m not confident you can do that

So he’s a finished product at like age 21?

Chauncey Billups took his first few years and teams to find his way as a player. I think SJ is a motivated young player who needs a consistent role in a rotation. He’s competitive and a fierce defender. That gives me enough hope to believe in his potential.

Elfrid Payton, Furnier and Hezonja all available.

I would trade Willy + 2nd rounders for Starboy, but i doubt they would.

Stanley would be a starter for me. Get me Fournier too.

Would be fun stretches with

Frank
Fournier
Hardaway
Johnson
KP

or

Frank
Hardaway
Johnson
Beasley
KP

Still looking for a PG?
I'm sure you can get Rubio for cheap the way he's been playing.

So, get Lauvergne and Gobert if you want Fournier happy and playing his highest potential!
Frank Ntilikina is a play-off player, but he goes to the Hornets.

Paris 2024 (Starters):
Ntilikina - Malédon - Hayes
Coulibaly - De Colo
TLC - Rupert or Risacher
Wembanyama- Yabusele
Embiid- Poirier - Lessort [without Embiid: Fall]

Fournier is redundant with Hardaway IMO and any bonus he gives you offensively he gives back on defense because Hardaway at this stage is much better on that end at the same age.

Hezonja I would just sign in the offseason if you really want to. No reason to give up assets for a guy racking up DNPs

Payton would be intriguing but if you trade anything of value for him you're probably more inclined to sign him in the offseason which I'm not sure I would really want to do... His numbers look good this year though but I still don't trust his jumper and I do think Frank could become a better shooting version of what Elf is down the line. Tough call but if the price is right I would consider it for sure... I've always had a soft spot for Elfrid.

Is Stanley Johnson better than Lance Thomas? Is his ceiling higher than Lance Thomas? Can he be had for 2 2nds and a salary match? Or 1 second and Kyle? When we resign him will his deal be something like Lance Thomas' deal?

We should try and get Nerlens on the cheap. He gets his head on straight and he's a good fit with KP with his "switchability" on D

Maybe we should get in position to make Klay Thompson a giant offer.

Return to New York Knicks
