"... and a pick"? You just gonna drop it there and leave it at that? The mere mention of us trading a pick sends me into delirium.
What pick?

sure am gonna drop in there. i can't remember who was doing the speculation, but someone suggested thibs might want to bring in noah in an asset grab. it made sense, as his deal fits their spent cap window and he could get some PT behind KAT and help him along in his toughness.
but it would cost the knicks something. maybe that chicago pick? a future protected first rounder?
not advocating. just throwing it out there for discussion.

im completely sane

Cavs trade a pick to the Suns
Suns take a little junk for picks
Lakers clear the books
Figured I'd put this nonsense here too

Chicago's pick? Hmmm. Seems to be getting worse by the day. Now I need to know how you plan on using that extra cap space before I sign off.

nothing more than having options. including possibly doing the same.
i am the first one to tell you that i don't see any impact FAs between now and the end of noah's deal, so it could be moot. but financial freedom is nice.

That's my thought, though I hadn't done a review of the 2018 free agents with Noah's salary off the books in mind. And I certainly have no insight into what MillsPerry's plan for this summer is. I would like to keep O'Quinn, Beasley, and McBuckets so maybe getting rid of Noah would allow us to do that. In that case, I could be down for that.
See? Now you hooked me.

Man if any team even suggest possibly taking Noah back for anything less than a 1st rounder you hang up the phone and drive him straight to the airport before they change their minds. Not having Noah on the books would completely open up our flexibility again even if we have to take a bad deal that is less money for more years.

nah. i'm not doing more years. i'd just wait noah out for all that.
klay thompson is the only 2019 UFA i'd consider making a play for. and even he's getting on in years.
2020 could be KAT if something terrible happens, but you don't have to move noah for that.

This team would be so much better defensively with Rubio/Frank over Jack....

I would take Hardaway. I think he's all star level, but I think we could have had both if we moved Lance or Lee in a deal...

Re: 2017/2018 NBA Trade/Wishing Well Thread (Cont.)
The player we should be after is batum
With kemba hitting free agency they either have to let him walk for nothing or sign him to a very large contract
Jordan hasn’t shown any willingness to blow it up and rebuild
But at the same time the Lux tax is gonna be hard to stomach for a team that’s clearly not going anywhere and struggles to sell tickets now
Perhaps there is a way to steal batum from them for a combination of cap relief and a player like Willy
I think a two way, Swiss Army knife SF with vet experience would be exactly what we need
I’d be willing to lose Willy and koq and probably Beasley and Thomas or lee plus potentially the chi pick for batum
Sure he’s pricy but he’s worth it and still young enough
I wouldn’t want to give up Willy if we didn’t have to or that chi pick but I don’t think they show interest otherwise
Thoughts?
