Nothing...nothing like Kyrie

But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

I'm curious to see if he has enough athleticism as a package. You don't need more than enough really.

Maybe he threw out a big name comparison so Frank will stop putting the clamps on him in practice

In today's league I can see Kyrie, I was thinking more Penny Hardaway.

DSJ 4 life.....

He’s got a lot of Kyrie tendencies a little bit,” Sessions said after practice Wednesday. “He’s not the most athletic guy but he can handle the ball in tight spots, can finish around the rim. It’s still early on but he definitely gives me that Kyrie feel when Kyrie was a rookie.”

Frank also doesn't need to jump very high with those long ass arms. Takes a lot less effort for him to dunk then somebody like DSJR

I don't think not knowing the capital of a state compared to not understand complex brain neuroscience compared to thinking the world is flat are all the same kind unknowing, they are three different degrees of illusion, not the same level of stupid if I may be so snarky.

I don't know if I am successfully illustrating the distinction and what I am saying makes any sense to anyone.

I like Frank a lot, hope the city doesn't turn on him if he has a rough start. Likewise if he comes out balling hes gonna be hyped like mad, excited to see him play.

Like I said, anyone who knows and understands basket-ball is going to love Frank Ntilikina.

He's not going to make the highlights plays, and average 20 or 30 a game, but he's going to produce steady guard play, pass first, shoot second, use the open lane to find bigs, and drive, pass on contested occasions, kick out when needs to, shoot when he's open, etc, and on the other end, take pride in contesting shots, going through screens and guarding his own man, as opposed to switching on someone who's on the weak side, and look up for a rebound he can't grab.

He's Frank Ntilikina, the complete opposite of JR Smith, he's Boris Diaw in a guard body. Care to find a guard who matches this comparison. Jalen Rose said George Hill on draft day, which is fair but I think Frank is more skilled than Hill.

I don't like the Kyrie Irving comparison, it puts unnecessary pressure on the kid, and he doesn't have, to me, the scoring attributes and quickness of a Kyrie Irving. Knicks can waive Sessions immediately if he's going to throw Frankie under that bus.

It's just a comp from a player and players aren't always the most nuanced or intellectual so don't get too carried away with this. I will say following Frank during off-season and from the early snips in camp I like how he's carrying himself. Humble and eager to learn but also confident that he belongs. Reminds me of rookie Porzie in that sense.

Also it looks like his handle is much tighter now compared to some of his old game clips. I know he worked on that heavy so it looks like it is paying off.

This is New York City. Things get overblown there. Last year, the season started terrible when D-Rose mentioned they were a super team. It was not a compliment to teammates, it was just foolish to say.

The Post already questioned Frank on that Ramon comment, and to which he had to respond (and did well). They did a story on this. Berman tweeted that Frank hit the side of the backboard in PRACTICE for X sakes.

The Garden audience, who are not the most intellectual either, is going to read this and expect greater and greater things from Frank. A few bad misses here and there, and they may start booing him this November and ruin the kid's confidence.

The media can help the kid grow and mature, or they can throw him under a bus on 6th avenue. We can't control them, but from the fans and players, Frank will need all the support from everyone involved to do well.
The pressure and talk has got to be around Porzingis this year, since he now seems strong enough to respond to this pressure and adversity. And on the coach as well.
Not on the rookie guard.
