I, like some others, was hesitant on reading the article... so glad I did. Didn't realize what this MAN has already gone through. He'll be in the league a long time with his current ethics

That would be my wet dream. Those Jazz teams were beating super teams (except Bulls) and the Spurs were modelled after them.

LOL that's actually pretty close, Hardaway was no Russell though. Russell defends allll the greats. The bench is spot on though.

lol yeah know... but I did it physical frame-wise... THJ has a pretty good build of muscle frame and bone strength

He comes from a family who has been through the real battlefield, that will make him so different from others.

I sincerely hope he can live up his dream and achieve our dreams too (to win it all gradually). We will be patient to watch him grow in our eyes.

It's refreshing

I can see what Phil was doing,

Phil was hated and despised by the media and the average fan. He came here with almost no draft choices to use and a team bereft of youth and talent. Now we have KP, Willy, Frank plus possibly Dotson and Baker. And all of our draft picks going forward. In a year or two we'll be challenging for rings and no one will remember what Phil did for us.

I loved Phil when he first came here because he knew so much about basketball and seemed like a fresh start. As you and others have pointed out, he's done a lot of good for the team. He made 3 huge mistakes and had one other failing.

Mistake #1: When we lost our coach of the year choice to GSW, hiring Fish was a mistake. Fish was too inexperienced and we later found out he had a certain character flaw. Nobody misses him, with the possible exception of Matt Barnes, who may hope to see him once more just for revenge.

Mistake#2: Phil made us think he was great by resigning Melo. This was, of course, when he agreed to giving Melo the infamous NTC that took 3,000 pages of agonized comments on this board. And we may never know if Dolan played a role in forcing this signing.

Mistake #3: Signing the walking dead to a long contract (Noah).

In addition to these huge mistakes, there were smaller ones that didn't hobble us as much. Even trading away THJr, who had potential, before we gave him a chance to develop, lead to our having to pay more for him than we wanted to.

I see the biggest problem of Phil's tenure as not being these mistakes, but his inability to deal with people. He had few great relationships around the NBA and his relationships with his players and others on the Knicks were poor. I'm hoping that Scott Perry, who has exactly these people skills Phil lacked, also knows enough about the the players and the game to be a good GM for us.

Despite the negatives, Phil's tenure was not all negative. He did draft and or sign some good young players, and we have our picks too. He just wasn't the complete package, so now we're on to Scott. I wish him luck.

thats the kind of guy every knick fan should be able to get behind

His brother Yves is now a surgeon, and other brother Brice is a physical therapist.

Ordinarily, we'd think of his brothers as being big successes. But chances are they won't earn even a fraction of what Frank will.

A smart family - let's think of Frank as a doctor who will operate on the court.

Awesome read. As a french who lived in Strasbourg, everyone had high praise about his character and work ethic. He'll be very good for a long time.

That still freaks me out seeing all those tears come out of his eyes like that. I've never seen water works like that before seeing Moreno cry like that.

He has yet to repent

Repent? The kid hasn't played a game yet and he might not start over scrubs like Sessions and Jack lol.

But can Jack and Sessions write inspiring letters like Frank can?? Damn right they can't.
