You should not have to get into a bidding war, because you might have noticed a player was doing good, you want him and he is under the radar, and them some lazy GM wants to jump on the bandwagon if they see a player being put on the auction.

For how much and how long though? Are you arguing that in season contracts should = $1. Like, I could go right now and sign Jabari Parker Posey Ring Around the Rosy Mitch McDonnell McGary Devon Harris George Ringo Chris Paul Larry Bird for $1/5???

I could see it if we could only do shorter contracts but say we get a Lin situation midseason where a guy is all of a sudden obviously worth more long term. I would think any longer commitments should be bid on.

Also, if somebody has cap room and could make a better offer to a player they should have that advantage.

As someone that don't have cap space and would be negatively impacted by this, yeah, I actually agree. Fair seems to be fair regardless of what it means for me personally.

I'm going to start inputting the teams this weekend. The goal will be to start our season a few days after the SIM updates and imports the rookie class which br7 said usually happens around early November. It will take me some time to get all 30 teams minutes in so I'd want them by the end of October at the absolute latest. I will get a better idea of everything after this weekend when I start inputting the teams though.

Can we change minutes and rotations from game to game depending on match-ups?

Now that the draft is complete, any player who gets waived will go onto the waiver wire for 48 hours. They will go onto the waiver wire and keep the contract that they are signed to. Teams with the cap space available to absorb that contract can place a claim on that player during that 48 hour period. If more than one team places a claim on a player who is on the waiver wire, the player will be assigned to the team with the worst record. If two teams have the same record at the time the player is released and both put a claim in on a player on the waiver wire, then the player will be assigned to the team that placed the claim first. I put a "Waiver wire" section into the rules. Any additional questions let me know.

As far as free agents go...I am about to assign the players from the auction page to fill out the final 10 roster spots. After that, the remaining players, and anyone else not on the list, will be free agents willing to sign with any team that has the money/roster space for $1/1 year. No player will sign a multiyear deal in season.

Also, I am going to start inputting the teams into the SIM this weekend. So in the interest of making things not crazier than they have already been for me, I am going to put a freeze on all transactions starting at 6PM Saturday. If you want to sign a different player or complete a trade, you must have it submitted by 6PM Saturday. I am guessing that the freeze will last for a few days until I can enter all 450 players. Once I have all 30 teams inputted (at least as much as I can before the rookie update) we will once again be open for transactions.

I'm not sure if it will be game to game or week to week at this point. I will know more after this weekend when I start to input the teams and play around with the SIM some more. For the last five weeks I have just been concentrating on the draft so I haven't had the chance to see how involved it will be yet.

This all sounds fair.

2 Qs:

Once a waived player is picked up does the waiving team get that salary slot back. e.g. Beno Udrih: if somebody picks him up, I get my dollar back, no?

Will players (us) be able to access the sim and if so in what ways? <------- this can wait until you have better answers

If a player gets picked up off of the waiver wire then the team that picks up the player assumes the entire contract for that player and the team that released the player is off the hook for that contract. If the player signs a new deal after he clears waivers and is a free agent then you would not get any money back for that player.

(I was thinking about subtracting the new contract the player signs for from what is owed by the team which originally released the player but I think it will get to complicated for me to keep track of and/or explain to make it worthwhile). But if people want, then I can incorporate that into the game as well.

I doubt you will have access to the SIM but I can't say for sure. Br7 would know better, but I had to pay for the software. I don't think that there will be a link that I can give out so everyone could see standings, schedule etc but it would make things much easier if there was. As soon as I get into the SIM this weekend I will try and answer all SIM related questions better though.

Philly playing him at C. Moz was afraid to go out on him and now he’s finishing in paint against smaller guys. Love his game.

Sweet baby Jesus - 22 points in 15 minutes.

Like I said - he's that much of a factor. The difference between a playoff berth and a definite lottery team.
