Huh? He was getting traded one way or another. Mills is an all-time terrible executive and a Dolan yes man. I have zero faith in him doing anything good so I'm not ready to feel all hunky dory because Melo is off the team. The Knicks awfulness was and never will be about one player. I've said that all along.

I am hoping that this is a real rebuild - not a half ass one we have always done. But I don't have confidence in Mills doing a good one.

Dolan pays over the tax limit and isn't involved in roster decisions.

I betcha he was kept up to date on the Carmelo trade saga. And I'm sure he was debriefed on the Hardaway signing. Not that this is a surprise. I think most owners like to be kept in the loop on this stuff and give their approval on deals of any significance.

The "acid test" will be free agency 2019.

Yea, that free agency year will test his patience. We will see if he will make the same mistake again by panicking and grabbing a Melo/Amare type player.

I wish he didn't fire Phil, and I wish he put a halt to the THjr decision until the Knicks got their GM though....

Actually, pretty different. When Simmons isn't doing his "bro" schtick, he's actually pretty knowledgeable about basketball, at least from a fan's perspective. He's a total Boston homer but freely admits it. Trouble is, Simmons is rarely schtick free. Also, he's better in longer written things, as the BS to actual thoughtful points is maybe 1:4, but when he tweets or makes short comments, it's 2:1.

Dolan's tenure has been largely terrible. Rapp might be going overboard, but it doesn't change that fact.
