This preseason is telling us a lot about this team

Honestly... how the hell did we manage to get rid of our two worst defenders (Rose/Melo) and get worst defensively? For all this talk about all movement, ball movement isn't leading us to good shots and we are turning the ball over more than we get assist. Our young players look like trash. Frank excluded. It doesn't seem like this team has any interest in making Willy a key player in this offense, KP literally looks like he doesn't have an idea on what to do when he's in the game besides blocking shots, Dotson can't create for himself, Baker... you guys are really high on Baker  This guy doesn't belong in the NBA. And I guess we got Beasley on this team because he has braids and his game is similar to Melo's?

As far as THJ... I don't think I need to say anything about that signing.

Honestly speaking, only good thing about this team is Courtney Lee. All this talk about how we know we'll suck but we'll be fun to watch is nonsense. This team isn't fun to watch. It's like watching the bad news bears... the basketball version.

This team is embarrassing and watching D'Antoni and Harden embarrass us smh... It's really bad.

0-82 here we come. Without KP, we’re barely a G-League team. With him we’re still far from a playoff team. WELCOME TO NY, LUKA!

Welcome to the rebuilding process folks. It's never pretty. This season will tell me a lot about the resolve of NY fans in a rebuilding situation.. don't disappoint me..

I get comfort in knowing that Harden and Dantoni will never win anything meaningful

Yankees were a rebuilding situation and made it work. This isn't rebuilding. This is just being trash.

Much easier to rebuild in baseball than it is in the NBA. Draft is much deeper, stars matter way more in basketball, etc. We’re not in a rush to be good anytime soon anyway, so I see no point in being angry that we are rebuilding - because that’s exactly what it is. High picks, youth, move forward.

Plus, no salary cap in baseball so the Yankees can just bring in wheelbarrows of money to FA meetings

If there was no salary cap in the NBA, we'd never miss a Finals

Telling alot about the fans as well

There was always a saying......

"you can't rebuild in New York"

Keep proving these people right.

Yankees aren't winning games and competitive because of high priced players. Judge, Sanchez, Bird, Castro, Severino... these are all key players that are young. We had a good farm system.

We've been trash for about 20 seasons now, excluding one season. How long does it take to grab a good young player?

Not through the draft. We've been rebuilding through the draft since right now. Deal.

We've been going for the quick fix since 2001

Fixed that for you

We let DSJ go and drafted Frank and all I know about him so far is he just been hurt for forever now... This process is draining

But it is easier to build around young players when you have the financial backing they have, no? The Yanks are spending 85 million this year on players older than 30 who aren't really contribuiting (I don't think, not a huge baseball guy), plus 21 million to Chapman who my Yankee fan friend complains about all the time

And it takes a long time sometimes. Just look at the Wolves, haven't made the playoffs since 04, gone through 2 whole rebuilds, and only drafted one player in that entire time they could build around (KAT, Wiggins wasn't drafted by them and they traded away LaVine and Dunn). Magic too, have been rebuilding since the Dwight trade 5 years ago, still no real contender chances anytime soon. Suns as well.

Granted, it helps when you have draft picks, but rebuilding is a slow process

Now you're just crying.

Newsflash:

You don't know what DSJ or Frank are going to be.

You might need a vacay if this is draining.

This is a rebuild, expect a lot of losing.

Just have to look fwd to the times they let the young guys rock together.

Frank
Baker THJ
Dotson MCD
KP
WHG KOQ

Doesn't seem like it will be often, but let's hope that's not the case.

Ron Baker, Courtney Lee, Lance Thomas, and Kyle O'Quinn all played tonight. Willy Hernangomez, Kristaps Porzingis, Joakim Noah, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas are also part of the roster.

All 8 of these players were on the team last year. Lance is on his 4th year of being coached by Rambis, while KP and KOQ are going on their 4th year.

If there isn't a single 5-man combination among these players that can play defense, then the coaching staff must be to blame, but especially Kurt Rambis.

How bad of a teacher and coach must Kurt Rambis be?
