makes sense and was bound to happen. The MSG Company is in a loss position at least this quarter (they posted an overall loss last year) and the Liberty hasn't really made any money since its inception back in 1997.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if the League folds or contracts some teams.

There were rumors that the Dolan family has explored selling MSG & Knicks/Rangers as they diversify into other sectors. They've done well recently with entertainment & food.

The WNBA financially isn't a success at all is it? I always assumed it was kept afloat on funds supplied by the NBA.

I think the perceived payoff is that it has helped engage women and families in the sport.

They should lower the rims.

It has been kept afloat by it's big brother teams. The increased success of the G-League hasn't made things any easier for them either.

The WNBA pretty much exists solely for good PR. Strange way to run a business. The game is boring. When a league’s teams would be beaten by the top high school teams, what’s the point?

Where will they play? I feel bad for the player's and the league but they aren't making money. It's an understandable business decision.

If all of us here chip in about $100 each, we could buy it.

But the future of TV is still up in the air. Cablevision/Optimum would come as a packaged deal with the teams.

Rumors have been around more now that they may want to exit this industry because of the competition from so many internet & Tech platforms.

They would command A LOT too as the Rockets just went for $2 Billion, and HALF the Nets for A LOT!

it sucks because some of the WNBA teams actually played some awesome fundamental basketball. The WNBA Finals were actually fun to watch.

Unfortunately, women's sports does not seem to get much love in the world. If only there was more interest, we'd have more revenues, which would allow the teams to pack arenas and consequently allow players to actually get paid.

It may be a while for that to happen though. And NBA teams can't continue to let WNBA play with crowds of 8,000 or less. They've been bleeding money for almost two decades now

Barclay and Nassau Coliseum are among the interested buyers.

yeah Dolan could end up selling high. At the same time, we'd want to make sure to get an owner that's not a cheapskate. For all of Dolan's faults, he at least is willing to (over)pay people.

I don't see the urgency of selling the Knicks at this point. I still think it's a good cash cow until at least 2024, which is when the current TV deal expires.

They should play with a mans ball. I’d honestly watch if not for the smaller ball. Something that stupid turns me away from it.

The WNBA need to play their season during the NBA season. No one is interested in watching basketball over the summer.
